AKB48's hit 2011 single Sakura No Ki ni Naro is a spring-themed song about moving forward to new stages in life. Created by AKB48 mastermind Akimoto Yasushi, Letter From Sakura is a schoolyard miniseries that uses the song as the starting point. Shown over nine consecutive nights on Nippon Television, the 17-episode Letter from Sakura tells nine stories involving students of a class in a fictional all-girls high school, all played by members of the pop group using their own names. These stories feature themes like athletic competitions, family relations, teenage pregnancy, death, and of course, graduation. Written by scriptwriter Ooki Shizuka, Letter From Sakura is a touching ode to the unforgettable days of high school.

In addition to the complete series, Normal Edition Box Set includes a bonus DVD of bonus material. It also comes with a booklet.
