The MV material for Lexy's new album was shot in the wilderness of Kenya with the kingdom of animals as background and brought to life by famous So Hyeon Song whose earlier assignment was Hip Hop Reggae group Stony Skunk's explosive Jamaican MV. With all these great ingredients ready for her latest work, Lexy's musical gift from Africa is sure to get her a new swarm of devoted fans!

남들과 다른 음악, 다른 스타일, 다른 무대는 렉시의 절대 매력이며, 렉시의 존재 이유이기도 하다. 1999년 YG 패밀리의 컴필레이션 앨범에서 랩퍼로 참여하며 큰 주목을 받았던 렉시가 오랜 고민과 준비 기간을 거쳐 2003년 10월 데뷔 앨범 ‘LEXURY’ 를 발매한 후 2005년 7월, 1년 9개월 만에 2집을 발매한다. 결코 짧지 않은 공백기를 지나온 만큼 질적으로 우수한 음악과 더욱 멋진 스타일로 돌아왔을 거라는 기대를 하는 것은 렉시를 알고 있는 이들에게는 당연한 것이다.
파격적인 아프리카 사운드, 타이틀 곡 ‘눈물 씻고 화장 하고’
최근 세계적으로 인기를 끌고 있는 ‘아프리카 사운드’는 드럼 대신 ‘봉고’ 나 ‘퍼커션’ 등 아프리카 토속적인 느낌이 강한 타악기들을 사용하고, 단순한 리듬이 반복되면서도 예상치 못한 부분에서 비트가 변하는 등 강하고 거칠면서도 매우 선동적인 비트로 전세계 음악씬에 새로운 변화를 불어넣고 있다. 렉시의 2집은 이러한 ‘아프리카 사운드’와 맥락을 같이 한다. 그 특징이 가장 잘 두드러지는 곡이 바로 타이틀 곡 ‘눈물 씻고 화장하고’ 이다. 1집의 ‘애송이’나 ‘Let me dance’처럼 신나면서도 더욱 도발적이고 원초적인 매력이 물씬 풍기는 곡으로, 특히 YG 메인 프로듀서 페리가 만들어내는 불규칙적인 비트의 변화는 듣는 이들의 심장 박동수를 더욱 빠르게 하는 긴장감을 제공한다. 그리고, ‘자신에게 상처를 준 남자를 잊고, 더 멋지고 아름다운 모습으로 다른 남자를 찾겠다’는 가사는 렉시의 1집 타이틀곡 ‘애송이’를 작사한 싸이의 작품으로 렉시 이외의 여성 뮤지션들과는 작업을 거의 하지 않는 싸이의 자존심과 자신감이 담겨 있는 곡이다. 또한 케냐 현지 올로케이션 촬영으로 이미 큰 이슈가 되었던 ‘눈물 씻고 화장하고’ 뮤직비디오는 서현승 감독의 연출 아래 야생의 아프리카에서 원초적인 매력을 발산하는 렉시의 도발적인 모습으로 완성되었다. 렉시의 ‘눈물 씻고 화장하고’를 들어본 몇몇 음악 관계자들은 ‘올 여름, 렉시가 제대로 한 번 저지를 듯 하다’는 예상을 하고 있다. 대중들에게는 국내 뮤지션들이 시도한 적이 없는 아프리카 사운드가 처음에는 조금 낯설고 어색할지는 몰라도 곧 렉시와 함께 열정적인 춤과 노래를 즐길 수 있을 것이다. 타이틀 곡 ‘눈물 씻고 화장하고’를 비롯한 수록곡들은 하나 같이 너무도 렉시답기 때문이다.

LEXY is back!!!
| I was so excited for Lexy's 2nd album to come out. Oh my gosh Lexy's new music is so hardcore beat. I really love this 2nd album of hers. Her music and singing/rapping abilities proves to the music industry and everyone that she's a true hip-hop artist. What more can I say Lexy has the chrisma that makes her unique and you can't compare her to any other korean female artist. Lexy Fighting!!! |

Okay nice voice, but...
| All of the songs sound like... songs I've heard before and I've never heard Lexy's music before I listened to this album. The beats were stereotypical and although sure, you could dance to many of these songs, that's about all they've got going for them. She IS trying too hard to fit the Hip-hop/Rapper girl since there's so many 'featurings' on this album. It's really nothing special. |

Lexy Rules
| This CD is GREAT! I love it. Its a mix of Hip-Pop and Rap. She has a unique voice and music style. I love the african beats on her first single. if African beats are not your thing, she also has more electronic sounding songs and some slower songs mixed in. This CD is one of my ALL TIME favs! It is a must get! |

Oh L-E-X-Y, yo' so fly~
| well, well~ i thank PERRY for producing a superb album as such! YG family artists are just incredible! Lexy's got the flow, one of the sexiest femmes I heigh. Her voice is special. hihi. I can't explain how much I love this album! Soundtrippin' has never been this fun. No bad songs, 'know what i'm sayin'. This is a MUST-buy. ^^ LEXY ROCKS! YG Family fo'evahhhhhhhhhhhhh.... |

| I love lexy's unique voice...but I have to say hes trying too hard to fit that female rapper role....I like this album for what it is... some good tunes---if you are new to her sound you might not like it==but thats how LEXY is---try it out see if you like it.... |
