incredible

I knew from the first song on this album that is was going to be great. Almost every song on the album is jazz, but the songs are really great. DOUBLE has a good voice and I think it works really well with the tone of the album. I love the songs Bye Bye Baby, You Took My Heart Away, Life is Beautiful, and Lullaby of Birdland the best, but all of them are really great. This album is totally worth the money. DOUBLE is incredible. |

Double- More than you thought
|
I just have to say that this album totally changed my view of Double. Previously, I knew I liked her voice, and I liked her normal R&B tone, but I didn't paricularly think her talent or voice was anything noteworthy. I couldn't have been more wrong. This album, though a very different style than her normal music, may be the best example of her raw and true talent. The tone and style of this album is more along the lines of the jazz of the 20's and 30's, and a few of the tracks are even covers of songs from that era. Double not only sings these tracks well, but true to the style of the original artists. As a whole, I can't say that there's a track on this entire album that I didn't enjoy. For all of the tracks, it can be said that if it's not fun, it's certainly beautiful and moving. Also, I enjoyed hearing Double's personal take on Life Is Beautiful, the same track that appeared on M-Flo's Astromantic. Double's version is a bit more laid back and refreshing. Favorites on this CD were Bye Bye Baby, You Took My Heart Away (track 4 ver.), Wine Red No Kokoro, Lullaby of Birdland, and Life Is Beautiful ~Double Version~. |

I absoulute believe that this Double album is one the best I've heard in years...period. It's a great tribute to her roots with the Air Force entertainment/her sister and she does the music well...She got back to her roots with this one and the roots of R&B...if your STRICTLY an Contemparary/Pop R&B fan than this album is not for you...but if you respect your roots and love your roots than you can not skip this album |

BAD @ss album

I really luv Double but this album was a dissapointment for me. Vision and Wonderfull are top japanese R&B albums and I really luv them. But this cd isn't really worth buying..only iff you are a die-hard fan you should buy it ^^! But iff you're not but you are intrested in asian r&b i would recommend buying Vision or Wonderfull ^^! |

just wonderful

You never really disappoint from Double's albums. It was truly great. I love it when she sings in English in addition to Japanese. In my opinion, she is in the same rank as Alisha Keys, but more refreshing and better melody songs..:) |

Freshness!
|
I love this album. Its half english, half japanese and for anyone doubting Doubles english-dont! because its brilliant. Her covers sound new and fresh, for a younger audience, and her japanese songs fit right it with the best r&b singers in my opinion. She has taken a Jazz stance on this album which is quite a different route but its worked. There is not one song that is boring-surprisingly and even her version of the song she starred on-'life is beautiful' is good. her new verses are brilliant and cleverly written. Bed pt2 is a great version of the original and sort of feels like a tribute to her sister. Buy this album, because you wont be disappointed! |
