November 3, 2007 almost thereThis k-drama has so much potential to be at the top of recent k-dramas. It has a very promising beginning, with enough suspense to get you hooked till half way through the series. But that's as far as it could go, and never made it to the top. The last 1/3 of the series just drags on until a very crappy ending - no conclusions and just plain weird. So all the suspense and all the stories amount to nothing. This series would leave you feeling unsatisfied. But, if you really have nothing else to watch, take it.

Although I've watched the TV drama, most of the songs were played only once or twice during the series, or only the music version of the songs were played. Therefore just by watching the series, you won't remember all of them. BUT, the good news is you don't need to even watch the series to love this soundtrack. It features a load of powerful tunes/songs. The overall style of this CD is a mix of rap, classical tunes, and heavy drums - yes that's a rare combination, but they sound really good and modern and won't get you bored. All the tracks are excellent. My favorites are: #2 (most frequently played song in the serie), #3, #5, #6, #8, #9, #12.

(the other one is the Hong Kong Express soundtrack, which unfortunately is sold out on yesasia). For people who understand Chinese, this CD has full lyrics in Chinese as well as original Korean lyrics, plus poster-card size pictures of the four main leads with descriptions of their characters and stories. Tracks 3,4,13 are upbeat songs that will make you wanna dance. The other tracks are softer and really soothing to my ears; Reminds me of my favorite scenes in the series. And by the way, the series is the best. Read all the reviews here. You won't regret buying this CD or the serie.

September 17, 2006 ok, but not one of the bestThere aren't that many TVB series about stock markets, so that makes this a unique series. However, the plot is so unreal, especially in the scenes where families jump off and were thrown out of tall buildings. This can't be among the best TVB series. Some of the young actors/actresses gave disappointing performances here especially Loretta Lee and David Siu. For a better script and overall acting, see Blood of Good and Evil, a true masterpiece.

September 16, 2006 disappointingI started reading the book because it seemed interesting from the title. But there is no story here. After about 20 pages I gave up because it's just boring. One of the rare bad ones in her recent works.

April 20, 2006 Can't miss this!Please note this 41-episode version is the FULL version. The version released in mainland China has 48 episodes just because they shortened each episode. The content is exactly the same. This is a must watch. No doubt about it.

February 21, 2006 best Jin Yong adaptationNo doubt that by popular vote this is the best version of Tian Long Ba Bu EVER. The director put a lot of emphasis on the flowing of the energy during fighting scenes, rather than just fist fight like those Hong Kong versions. The best characters are the three male leads and Wang Yu Yan. The rest of the cast are great, too. People who think this is bad are probably brainwashed by HK drama.

February 21, 2006 good story, but bad actressThis is adapted from one of Qiong Yao's earlier novels in the 1960's. Good acting by all actors except the leading actress Wang Ling. She has an angelic face, but her acting is way, way below standard. I guess that's why she retired early from the showbiz. But if you are a Qiong Yao fan, this is still worth watching.

Deric Wan's Chai Ho Nam will forever leave a remarkable spot in TVB's history. His portrayal of the complicated Ho Nam is not only semi-good/semi-evil, but classy, elegant and has that star presence on screen. And as for the other star Maggie Siu, she completely redefined beauty. Before BOGE, I never found any women looking that good in short hair and with a very strong personality. Enough said, just go grab the VCDs! It's actually UNCUT, isnt that amazing too.
