I think it is surprising that they chose The Boys as the title song, as it has a very different tone compared to the rest of the songs.
It may take several times listening to The Boys before finding it contagious & catchy. I loved their live performances as well!
My other favourites include Telepathy (a very livey cute pop song), How Great Is Your Love (a deep ballad song), & TRICK (a catchy sleazy electro song).
Overall, it has a mixture of songs that certainly meets the appeal of all listeners.
Lastly, I purchased this album as a support for our girls. Go SNSD!

I am amazed with the vocal quality of SNSD during live performance, it sounds very much like recorded ones!
And yes, you can hear the fans cheering in and joining in songs - you can basically feel the love for SNSD.
I am very happy with this album, esp Disc 1. Would not get bored listening to it over and over again. Wish there were more pictures in the booklet though. The packaging is so-so, but still this album is worth the buy. I would definitely recommend this album.

GD & TOP Vol. 1
January 29, 2011 Another great album!I must say Big Bang members are talented. This is an excellent album, no doubt. It doesn't take long to listen before getting in tune with the songs. The Big Bang's 2 main rapper - GD & TOP collaborating together to produce this album, which I must give credit because I don't usually listen to heavy rap songs. It has a mixture of techno and disco in it.
Like most reviewer, I like the solo songs by GD (Obsession) and TOP (Oh Mom). All of the songs has very different flavour to it, which makes listening interesting.
The album was well made, and the photo booklet has glossy pages and nice pictures of GD and TOP in it.
I got BLUE colour, and as usual, thumbs up to Yes Asia as it took only a week before my order came!

Each song has a different taste/flavour to it, and gives the album a variety to listen to.
I like especially the first 4 songs - Electric hearts, A-Yo, Lucifer & Up and Down. The other songs are good too.
The downside is that the packaging is rather poor, made out of sloppy paper. The booklet fell off as the glue wasn't strong enough to hold it in. The CD was only held by another thin piece of paper...so not cool.
I find the photoshoot of the boys and their fashion rather odd though, but its not a negative comment.
Overall, it is a good album to listen to :)

December 3, 2010 Not badI bought this album from YesAsia because I liked listening to Again and again.
The photo booklets of the boys are rather odd though (in their makeups), but the packaging was neat and good.
Not a fan of electronica either, and overall, I would say the genre and style of music of each song are rather similar. There isn't a wide range of vocals either.
I do enjoy listening to Again and again and 10/10. The other songs are okay.
Probably would rate this album as average.

December 3, 2010 GreatThis is another album that I definitely loved and have not regretted.
The songs are R&B and rap in nature, pretty much individualized to Tae Yang's style.
This album certainly gives a different flavour from Big Bang's, and I really enjoyed listening to Tae Yang's smooth boyish voice. ]
I like especially Superstar, Move, Where You're At and Wedding Dress. Check out the MV, really great songs. The album closes with Take It Slow, which is appropriate and makes me want to listen to the whole album length again.
The downside of this album is that the song lyrics are rather sexual, contrasting to the polite courteous culture of Korea. This album is probably better suited for mature listeners, not young teens.
I would definitely recommend this album, good ratings and 2 thumbs up!

December 3, 2010 BEAST totally rocks!I ordered this album from YesAsia...and I love it totally.
The packaging is rather bulky and odd, but it is really worth the money. It is nicely done and the photo booklet is packed with drooling photos of the boys.
The songs has a very different feel from the usual K-pop style, it is rather fresh and impactful. BEAST has definitely come out strong...and you can tell the amount of preparation and details the boys have put into the album.
BEAST is B2ST is the 'anthem' song...it is short and yet so catchy. I wish it was longer.
Bad Girl is a hyped-cute song, and it gives that upbeat feeling to listeners.
Mystery rocks! It has that catchy chorus that makes fans want to listen over and over again.
Oasis is a good song to listen to.
I would rate this album highly, and this album is definitely worth the buy!

Their songs are explosive and heavy...a very different feel from the usual K-pop songs, which gives BEAST an edge from all the boy bands out there.
Shock is the highlight of this album, and it is an adrenaline-pumping song that gives you that awe feeling. Watch their MV, and you'll know what I mean. It gives them that BEAST-ly image...drool.
Just Before Shock is a prelude but a total contrast to Shock...it is very nice and creative song, I wish it was longer.
Take Care of My Girlfriend (Say No) is a nice slow song to listen to, while Easy is really an-easy going song to listen to.
This album is definitely worth the buy. I prefer to buy the Korean version as the ones I got from Malaysia here is rather cheap-looking, thin plastic CD and it does not have the nice photo booklets.
Happy to own this album.

December 3, 2010 Excellent!I just started listening to SNSD not long ago, and now I'm hooked!
I bought this album just to get a feel on all their songs since debut, and I would really recommend this album to all new SNSD fans out there.
The songs are easy-going and pleasant to listen to. The girls have got a good bend of vocal combination that gives the chorus a strong lift to their songs. I like especially Complete, Tinkerbell, Merry-Go-Round and Kissing You.
I love listening to TaeYeon's voice too...go dorky kid leader!
This album is definitely worth the buy. I would definitely recommend this album.

To be honest, as much as I love DBSK, I still couldn't adjust to listening to this album. I still prefer the boys to singing Korean songs. I wish they are given better songs to sing, and you can hear that the recording quality is rather poor.
However, I like the song Be My Girl and Empty..these 2 songs are quite catchy and upbeat. They have distinct vocals which blend in well with each other. The other songs in the album are average only.
Nevertheless, this album is a good start and I wish JYJ the best. Cheering them on.

I love the booklet, it is packed with a lot of photos as usual. The packaging is rather odd and might just fall apart if not taken care properly.
The song Mastermind is upbeat, and I loved Breath (Soom) the best! Just watch their MV and the dance is really addictive. The other 3 songs are okay.
Comparing to their 2 previous album, I would say that new listeners should probably get the "Shock of the Era" album first to understand BEAST better.
Overall, this is another great album K-pop fans should have.
