January 1, 2008 PLEASANT SURPRISECD 1 is a remake of many of his famous classics, but CD 2 (The Festive) turns out to be a pleasant surprise. All the songs are nicely chosen. Wonderful music arrangement which co-ordinates with SSH's beautiful vocalization. My favorite is "Christmas Miracle", "White Christmas" and "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". Highly recommend to all SSH fans.

December 23, 2007 Dream TeamBeautiful Days is among my Top Three favorite K-Drama.
Some may argue that the story line is the usual Korean drama plot : family secrets, rivalry between siblings, competitive love affairs, twisted relationships, terminal illness, too many crying scenes... etc. They have used the same plot a thousand times. Difference depends on the team work of the crew of the script writing, the performance of the actors/actress, the craftsmanship of the director. Beautiful Days has all the ingredients of a dream team.
This is my second Koran Drama since Winter Sonata. I bought Beautiful Days mainly because I like Choi Ji Woo. Her performance in Winter Sonata cut an overwhelming impression. She may not be the most good looking Korean actress but she has an unique magnetism which is very attractive. I did not have any knowledge of Lee Byung Hun at all before I watch BD. Somehow it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. LBH is sooooo.... GOOD. He is superb in acting, has a special kind of charisma and coolness that is different from the other actors. In Beautiful Days, LBH played ice and fire of the personality of Min Chul. He could be cold, unpredictable when his love is denied but somehow flammable when his passion is unleashed. It requires a lot of integrity to play a role with extreme difference but LBH demonstrated his performance in a meticulously professional way.
The pair of LBH/CJW brings out an awesome chemistry that is unforgettable although CJW is almost of the same height as LBH but audience will overlook this slight physical flaw once when attracted by their acting. Also Ryu Si Won and Lee Jun Hyun are good in their roles. RSW's sweetness as Sun Jae : an obedient son, a gentle lover and LJH as Sena : a selfish, aggressive girl looking for acceptance and love. I have to mention the actress who played Yeon Soo's best friend/room-mate, Nari. In some of the scenes she outshined her counterpart. Her acting is genuine and natural. Too bad that we do not see too many of her work in other drama series.
I highly recommend this drama to those who never watch LBH and CJW. For those who did they would know what I am talking about.

I love Kim Bum Soo since listening to Bo Go Sip Da from "Stairway to Heaven" OST. I am totally enchanted by his beautiful vocalization. This is the first album I collect and it is a great choice. All the songs are beautifully written. Though I do not understand the lyric but the melody and Kim's voice are all I ask for. Special recommendations : Track no. 1, 2, 4, 9, 10, 12 and 15. Especially No. 1 - Bo Go Sip Da, No. 4 - Sarang Hae yo, No. 12 and No. 15 - Hello Goodbye Hello which is the English version of his another hit "Once Upon a Day" in his 2nd Album (Remember). I program all the favorites to my alarm clock and the beautiful music wakes me up every morning. It is a MUST item for all ballad lovers.

August 24, 2007 More than two thumbs upI finally get this DVD set from Yesasia.com, a good quality English subtitle and complete version. I do not remember how many times I watch this series but each time it gives me a thrill as it was the first. The twosome of KSW/CJW is awesome. The chemistry, the emotional exchange, appearances are all tailored made for these two artists with extensive talents. No one could have done it better. People may argue that the story is full of cliche, cheap sentiment, one bit of Winter Sonata, the other bit of Beautiful Days and they just put the pieces together as one...Yes, they might have used the same plot a thousand times since the history of show business: amnesia, different identity, heartbreaking separations, evil stepmother, terminal illness and so on. However differences are made largely depending on the craftmanship of the director, team work of the script, performance of main/supportive actors and an outstanding music score of its original sound track, all these essences create a sensational phenomenon which make STH a legend of its time. It is the first time I watch Kwon Sang Woo and I am impressed with his extraordinary performance as an actor. He is just fabulous and has such an overwhelming ability to grasp the audience's heart of how he feels in the drama. Choi Ji Woo is my favorite Korean actress and she is always wonderfully good in transforming our heroine into a lively character. I also have to mention the supporting actor and actress who play HJS's father and stepmother. These veteran artists are doing such a great job, especially the one who plays stepmother. I have seen her other dramas which she plays different roles and she is excellent in each one of them. One last thing is the music which is simply heavenly made. I start collecting Korean music since listening to Kim Bum Soo's "Bo Go Sip Da" and for the first time ever I believe that there is no boundary nor any language barrier in the world of music..

Now and Forever OST
March 21, 2007 Excellent OSTI bought this OST totally because I am a big fan of Choi Ji Woo and I watched Yeonriji many times. The songs and music in the CD are beautifully written especially Instrument Tracks No. 2, No. 5, No. 11, No. 13 and Songs Track No. 1, No. 7 (the arrangement of this track is very much like a hymn, very classic), No. 9, No 10 and Track No. 12 -"You are just in a little higher place than me" which was written by the renowned Korean musician Shin Seung Hun in his 1996 Album. I do not read Korean and not understand 99% of the lyrics but it does not matter. The melody just flows romantically and reminds you the sad love story of the film. I listen to the OST over and over again and never get tired of it. It is highly recommended to any music lover.
