January 8, 2010 Brilliant mix of old and new! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is a brilliant concert that show cases why Ayumi Hamasaki is a star in Japan and Asia! At over 3 hours long, Ayumi manages to sing, dance and perform her way through the 08-09 new year concert. Most of the songs that she sang were earlier hits from the first half of her career. Some of the songs debuted as part of a major Ayu concert set list. I must say, I was very impressed with the performances of some of the old songs and how they were condensed and mixed to flow seemlessly with her newer songs. Each costume change represented a vignet and told a story of love and loss, or fun and vitality or hope. I'd recommend this concert to anyone who loves Ayumi's music and to those who are just a bit apprehensive about Ayumi's showmanship and performance. Ayumi proves that she is not only a singer, but a professional and humble entertainer and performer.

    November 25, 2003 Immaculate! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I think this is one of the most strongest releases from Faye yet. The songs that were chosen for this album fitted so perfectly and formed a continuous mood that was not interrupted. for those who have heard the whole album through non stop will know what i mean. The tracks that faye wrote are the strongest as well as the Zhang Ya Dong composition "smoke" (i absolutely love it!) and of course "Passenger". For those who were disappointed with the previous full length album she put out two years ago, i assure you will not be disappointed. FAYE IS BACK! the faye that we all fell in love with is back and i am looking forward to future releases from faye and her new record company Sony! Good work faye.

November 25, 2003 Lost Credibility Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
When i heard the frist couple of songs of the album, i thought that the album would not be that bad until i heard the song "xi huan" (tr 3). the first couple of bars reminded me of the Janet song "Someone to call my lover" then as i heard the verse i thought to myself it sounds exactly like it or very close to it! i looked at who wrote the song and it was written by Lotus Wong. I think that person totally ripped off Janet's song... i am very displeased! I think the fact that Sammi chose to sing s song that closely resembles Janet's song lessens her credibilty! I now think less of Lotus wong (i like a couple of her past songs) and Sammi (for chosing to sing such a rip off!). If they were to sing such a song they should of paid the license to sing the original song (it would've sounded much better). This reminds me of Mark Lui (another person who rips off western original songs). I am not dissing Sammi. just that i am really wound up about the song. I think a lot of other people will agree with me. I give this album a four (the bad song choice really made me feel that this album is not as good)

October 31, 2001 Hip Happening CD!!!!!!!! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Jay Chow is a musical genius!!! He composes his own songs (on both albums) and sometimes writes his own lyrics, adn can sing very well!! This man can do it all!! His creativity a singing style is very welcoming. His rnb and hip hop infused style is cutting edge. His ability to blend reality into his music is inspiring. His music can be so emotive that it churns your every emotion. This CD has emotive ballads that can make u cry, it has songs that can make you sad, it has songs to make you feel good and it has hard-rocking songs to get you moving. This cd, like his debut is very good in terms of quality, none of these songs are "fillers", all the songs fit into the puzzle of Jay Chow's "Fantasy World"! -Lingaz

October 31, 2001 good production! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This album was produced very well. The content is very reminscent of UK songs because some of the songs are written by Gary Barlow, which gives it the european sounding edge. Nice choice of songs gives this album its quality. Although some disagree to the change of sound in this album, I think it is great!! Opening with RnB beats to dancy songs and then featuring a song that he composed himself further mkaes him an outstanding artist, being able to write your own songs. I give this a ten because the whole sound of the album is very complimenting. It is very Leon! -Lingaz

October 31, 2001 Very Faye Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Hey!!! I am a HUGE fan of FAYE WONG!!! I almost have all of her albums, but I am missing a few cos i either can't find them or they are outta print. Anyways, this is artistically very good. I must admit upon first hearing the cd i thot WTF!!!!!!!! Cos i did not know what to think of the content and compositions of the songs. Seems that Faye took a totally different turn in music again, which is very good, cos then u dunno what to expect from her, in terms of creative music. The songs are very jazzy and alternative, which is good, cos its not like that same old Chinese pop songs we hear all the time. Now after hearing it a couple of times more i have come to appreciate the content and what it symbolises, I had learnt that it is the last CD that she has with her contract with EMI, so i guess she is going out with a bang!! And she is partying on!! The first half of the CD is very good, opening with "Wings of light" a very rocking introduction to the album, then comes "Wait" which is very quiet compared to track one, but then on track 3, it starts to get jazzy and it is a very fun song (after a couple of listens), then track four, this song is very good!!! But i prefer the cantonese version on the cantonese disc better. Track five is very beautifully written, a very good song. Track 6 is where things start getting weird, but still a good song. Track 7 is very theatrical, almost as if she is singing in a theatrical production. Track 8 is one of my favourites "idiot", it really is a great song. Then come the songs written by Wu Bai, Track 9 is a good dancy song with alternative sound. As the album starts to come to a close, comes Track ten, Her voice is very refined and reminds me of her older songs - very hypnotic. The cantonese disc is very good, Although "vertigo" did not attract me as much as the other cantonese songs, although still a good song, written by my other fave star, Nic Tse. Track 2 of cantonese disc is very good as well as track three (my fave track on disc). Overall, i think that this cd is very good in terms of quality, although it may not sit with you for the first time u listen to it, you will truly appreciate the creative concept of the album, because after all, Faye co-produced the album!!! (^_^) -Lingaz
