Little Mum Scandal OST (CGV TV Drama)

Four young female delinquents living under the same roof experience major growing pains in Korean cable channel CGV's new drama Little Mum Scandal, starring singer-turned-actress Hwang Jung Eum (Last Scandal), Yim Sung Un (The Great White Tower), Song In Hwa (Sharp 3), and newcomer Jung Hee Jung. Written by Kim Nam Hee, the brainchild behind hit dramas Stairway To Heaven and KAIST, the drama humorously and tactfully addresses various social issues facing today's young single mothers, runaways, and child workers who have become their family's sole breadwinners. Composer Lee Min Soo, who earlier wrote Brown Eyed Girls' hit song LOVE, takes on a more challenging role as the musical director for the soundtrack of Little Mum Scandal, using trendy hip sounds fitting to the drama's springy, energetic atmosphere.

A delightfully cheerful rock number, In seng eun ah reum da wuh ("Life Is Beautiful" - Track 2) features uplifting lyrics penned by popular lyricist Kim Yi Na, who previously worked with stars like Sung Si Kyung, Big Bang, and SE7EN. Composed by Lee Min Soo and penned by rapper Miryo of Brown Eyed Girls, Bad Girls is a fine blend of electronica and soft rock featuring J, Lim Jeong Hee and MC Mong as guest artists. Bad Girls fell short of inclusion in Brown Eyed Girls' debut album, but it finally sees the light of day here. Adding some hip-hop sounds into the mix is Bad Girls's second rendition, entitled Nae ddet dae ro ("In My Own Way" - Track 4), beautifully sung by the drama's main cast Yim Sung Un, Song In Hwa, and Jung Hee Jung.

최근 브라운아이드걸스의 ‘LOVE”를 작곡하며 활발한 활동을 하고 있는 작곡가 겸 프로듀스 이민수 작곡가가 채널CGV의 야심작인 드라마 ‘리틀맘 스캔들 OST’ 작업의 지휘를 맡았다. 트렌디 하면서도 평범하지 않은 극의 분위기에 맞춰 리틀맘 OST의 곡들은 다양한 장르를 넘나들며 각기 넘치는 개성을 발산한다. 타이틀곡 ‘인생은 아름다워’는 ‘모나리자걸로’로 네티즌들 사이에 UCC 스타로 이름이 알려진 락밴드 스프링쿨러의 여성보컬 요아리가 참여해 눈길을 끄는 락 스타일의 신나는 곡이다. 성시경, 빅뱅, 세븐 등 많은 가수들의 작사, 작업에 참여한 김이나 작사의 희망을 주는 밝은 가사와 요아리의 파워풀한 가창력이 돋보이는 곡이다. ‘Bad Girls’라는 곡은 브라운아이드걸스와 임성언, 송인화, 정희정 3명의 리틀맘의 출연진이 부른 두 가지 버전이 수록되어 있다. 요즘 강세를 보이고 있는 일렉트로니카와 소프트락이 잘 어우러진 곡으로 이미 많은 앨범 활동을 통해 실력을 인정 받은 브라운아이드걸스의 가창력이 돋보이는 곡이다. 연기자 임성언, 송인화, 정희정이 참여한 ‘Bad Girls’의 또 다른 버전인 ‘내 뜻대로’는 힙합과 일렉트로니카풍의 곡으로 극을 연기하던 배우들의 참여로 인해 연기자 특유의 감정 전달이 잘 표현되어 음악 감상시 많은 공감을 느낄 수 있을 것이다. 최근 공중파 방송의 답답함과 반복된 스토리에 지친 시청자들에게 독특하고 참신한 소재의 케이블 드라마가 주목을 받고 있어 리틀맘 OST 역시 드라마의 시청자들과 OST에 참여한 각 아티스트의 팬들에게 큰 사랑을 받을 것으로 기대된다.
