Stephen Chow is absolutely delightful in this "cosmic comedy," directed by the man who also made New Tales Of The Flying Fox. Tung Piao plays a murdered police inspector who comes back from the dead to protect, help, and haunt a crafty cop into avenging his death. The comedic complications multiply, as do the thrills and laughs, in this prime Stephen Chow winner.

Genisis of quirkiness

In this film Stephen Chow is still utilizing his quirky-boyish image to rally the attention & help his character needs in this spiritual buddy-cop movie. Standard slapstick gags drizzle through to move the shallow plot along but everything pretty much wraps up nice & tidy. |
