The late great comedic duo of Lydia Shum and Bill Tung brought many laughs to Hong Kong in the 1980s and 90s with feisty family comedies like It's a Mad Mad World, Double Fattiness, and 1989's Lost Souls. This hilarious supernatural comedy serves up double doses of local humor and sitcom slapstick as only Hong Kong films can, while also making wry commentary about the migration trend of the time. Like many Hong Kong people, the Ling family are hoping to immigrate to Canada - but then they all die in a gas poisoning accident. Something wimpy like dying isn't going to stop them from their Canadian dreams, but it turns out migrating in the next life takes money, too. In order to raise funds to head west, the Lings return to the mortal world and get to work making money through various jobs, raising plenty of hilarious havoc and misunderstandings along the way.

　　凌浩西一家正準備移民加拿大，不幸全家中煤氣毒死亡。陰間官老爺卻要他們在加拿大造好墳墓，才准他們的鬼魂移居加國。為了籌款做墓，他們回陽間找次女玲玲的男朋友包有路幫忙，包教凌浩西去做警方線人，凌太做按摩女郎，大女嘉嘉做舞女。她在做舞女時，才發現她心目中的白馬王子保羅原來是專門玩弄女人的壞蛋。他們一家人幾經辛苦才籌夠造墓錢，造了墓，他們又變回鬼魂準備移居加國，為了免傷包的心，對他有所交代，凌家重演合家中毒死亡事，豈料警方懷疑包謀殺他們，為了洗脫包的嫌疑，凌家又回陽間暫時復活……

　　Ling's whole family die of gas poisoning just when they are getting ready to immigrate to Canada. For their spirit to immigrate to Canada the Lings have to find enough money to build a grave. They return to Earth and do various odd jobs to make a "living" and have to reenact the death scene to ease the mind of daughter Ling-ling's boyfriend.
