An ethnic Puyuma (an aboriginal tribe in Taiwan), Shelly Kao proudly hails from Taiwan's southern port city Kaohsiung. After placing sixth in the first season of the popular televised audition program Super Idol, she made the unconventional decision to debut as a pop singer in her hometown. With the blessing of her fans nationwide, she hops onto a northbound plane and moves into the bigger music scene in summer 2009 with her first Mandarin album Loudly Say Love You. The album contains 10 tracks, including her debut single "Walk to the End", "The Life of a Single", "Open Your Heart", and the titular number "Loudly Say Love You", a joint effort with Mainland and Japanese musicians.
