Spanning from postwar Korea to the present day, the 2006 SBS drama Love and Ambition follows a family's struggles against poverty and dreams for a better life amid the turbulent changes of modern Korea. Jo Min Ki (Queen Seon Duk), Lee Hoon (King's Woman), and Lee Yoo Ri (Mom Has Grown Horns) play siblings whose parents run the town mill. From the same town as them, Han Go Eun (A Man Called God) is a young woman who hopes leave the small-town life behind. The drama's cast also includes Chu Sang Mi, Kim Sung Hoon, and Lee Min Young.
