Fantastic CD, but it just never clicks Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Ai Chan's 3rd offering contains some fantastic writing but unfortunately seems to lack a lot of the tonal qualities of earlier albums. Her song writing here is in a lot of ways better, but it does feel like it's a transition phase for her. You start to hear the sounds of the first two albums dying away and the sound of later work trying to find it's place.

In some of the songs her delicate voice is some what washed away by over-powered guitar heavy backings that don't seem to have had much thought put into them, but you are held in by the engaging melodies that keep the songs alive.

The production is spattered unevenly across the album and I can't say that there is much of a feeling of joy in the majority of the songs, but it is, once again, something very different. Ai Otsuka has achieved an interesting side-note to her career in Love Cook, but I can't say it ever works as well as the other albums both before and after.

Smash hit! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Ai Otsuka's 3rd album, LOVE COOK, is a great album to buy! Depending on which version you buy, you get something special in it. I was lucky to buy this version at a very cheap price here! Anyway, this album is definitely powerful song-wise. There are many great tracks on the album, and some pretty decent ones too. Vocal-wise, this album isn't bad. If you don't mind high-pitched singing, then this is definitely a great album for you.

Neko-ni FUUSEN (track 6) is my favourite on the album. This nice, acoustic song has both a cute and inspiring feeling to it. The vocals during the song are very cute and fit the style of the song perfectly. Very cute song that is both slow and midtempo. Planetarium (track 10) is one of Ai's hit songs. One of the slower tracks on the album, this song doesn't show off Ai's cute vocals, but more of her mature sounding vocals, which shows another side to her. A slow, but beautiful ballad, it's a great song to fall in love with.

A great album with some amazing tracks and other good ones. Vocals fit perfectly with each song to match the themes and styles. Recommended to everyone.

Brilliant and Touching album! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ai Otsuka starts to show her fans and J-pop followers her demensions and other talents. In this album, songs like SMILY and U-Boat are instantly catchy and immensely likeable, plus the funny and funky Ramen 3 minute Fun Cooking which features Ai-chan talking on the phone to herself about Ramen, highly adorable. But in addition to having the fun songs she's known for, she has beautiful ballads on here as well. The 2 the come to mind are 5:09am, which starts with Ai singing calmly and exploding into the chorus with powerful rock guitars. Definitely a favorite of mine. And the other ballad is the exer popular Planetarium, which features flutes in the background as part of Ai's chrous. A very cute and emotional song and I dare anyone to hear that song and say that she can't sing! Overall, this is Ai's best album. But if you are looking for the neverending happiness of LOVE PUNCH, you might be disappointed in this work. Definitely a treasure in my eyes

DVD review Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
hey it's me again, I forgot to include a DVD review in my previous review. Well the "cherish" pv is quite awesome, and fits the song perfectly. The setting is gothic and mysterious! And the biidama pv is cute-style, but nothing special. Ai is so cute though!

Pretty Good Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I absolutely love Ai-chan's "LOVE PUNCH" album, so "LOVE JAM" dissapointed me a little, but it's still a very good album. And for "LOVE COOK" the same thing goes: nothing is better than "LOVE PUNCH" in my opinion. But still, Ai-chan is very talented and this album is quite alright. the single tracks are very nice especially "smily" and "neko ni fuusen". The album tracks are quite weak compared to Ai's previous works. The melodies tend to repeat and are quite bland. Overall this is an enjoyable album, but I prefer "LOVE PUNCH" because I like every song off that album! <3

disappointment Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
Ai is going downhill for me :( I loved her first album "LOVE PUNCH"... I enjoyed the second one "LOVE JAM"... but "LOVE COOK" is not for me... the only good songs are the single songs and "Cherish"... I find the rest unlistenable. I bought this album only for the photobook, which I must say is very nice. Ai looks really pretty in it. And I must admit that the CD is released in a really nice slip-box. If You are a big Ai fan - buy it, and if You want to start Your Ai adventure, I suggest buying the other two albums...

"J-POP QUEEN"? Not at all! Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
I'm a total fan of Ai's two previous albums, but this one is completely awful! Track 1, "5:09a.m" drags on too much, and is still too short of a song for me to like it. Track 2, "hane ari tamago" is totally boring and her voice is messy. Track 3, "bi-dama" is catchy at some parts but overall too repetitive. Track 4, "SMILY" is completely awful and her voice is so irritating! It's horrible compared to her earlier hits like "sakuranbo" and "Happy Days." "U-bo-to", track 5, is annoying. Track 6, "neko ni fuusen" is easily the best song on this album. It's beautiful and sounds clean, unlike the other songs on this album. Track 7, "Cherish" was great the first few times I heard it, but the magic wore off and it's become boring. But, her voice is really chilling right after the first chorus. Track 8, "ramen sanbun kukkingu" is awful awful awful awful awful. I don't really have anything to say about track 9 "toukyou middonaito" except that it hasn't clicked with me. "Planetarium," track 10, is the 2nd best song on this album, and it's quite beautiful. I have nothing to say about "Birthday Song" except that it's probably worse than track 8. Lastly, track 12, "LOVE MUSiC" is completely too slow to live up to its title, and her voice is too loud. Overall, I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this album! If you want to buy something of Ai's that's actually worth your money, go look at her other albums "LOVE PUNCH" and "LOVE JAM." Their covers are less tacky and the music is much more fun, clean, and catchy. I think she tried too hard to be childlike in some of the songs on this album. "Planetarium" and "neko ni fuusen" are really the only reason I gave this album any stars at all.
