After his directorial debut Unusual Youth, Dennis Law now presents Love@First Note, also filled with the dynamics of young people in Hong Kong. As investor, producer, director, and screenplay writer, he pools together rising young singers in Hong Kong to unfold a story about music, youth, and love. Talented singer Justin Lo, a first-time male lead, plays a musician named Ki, who is introverted but possesses an exceptionally enchanting voice. Kary Ng from girl group Cookies, also a first-time lead, plays a lonely rock music lover. Alex Fong Lik Sun, already on his fourth movie this year, is a rich young man who wants to break away from the well-bred circle that he belongs to. In the course of pursuing their music dreams, the three aspiring youngsters learn more about themselves, about each other, and about love.

Music is the only comfort to Tony (Alex Fong), a rich man's son. He visits a second-hand vinyl record shop and befriends storekeeper Kristy (Kary Ng). Kristy has a crush on him, and everything just seems too perfect when Tony starts to date her! Disaster comes when she learns that his real purpose for going out with her is to join a famous rock band! Her long-time friend and admirer Ki (Justin Lo) accompanies her through all her low points, and even helps her to reconcile with Tony who later regrets betraying her.

Director Dennis Law studied film in college but became a property developer after graduation. However, his cinematic dream never died. A few years ago, his investment extended from realty business to the film industry, and he became the chairman of Milkyway Image, which was founded by Johnnie To. Now an all-round filmmaker, he has secured helping hands from famous Hong Kong musicians such as Mark Lui and Keith Chan, making Love@First Note a very special film and music cross-over.
