This Japan version release comes with both Shin Hye Sung's debut solo album, Love of May, and his second album, The Beginning, New Days.
The best things in life come in threes, so it's only natural for Shinhwa lead vocalist Shin Hye Sung to chime in with his second album, right on the footsteps of Kim Dong Wan's and Lee Min Woo's solo efforts. In conjunction with his new album, Shin Hye Sung is holding his first solo concerts in Korea and Japan, and the response has been amazing. The tickets for his August 11 and 12 concerts in Seoul were snatched up in a mere 30 minutes, and his 4-city Japan concert tour in late August has also sold out.
The Beginning, New Days is the long-awaited follow-up to Shin Hye Sung's debut solo album, Love of May, released back in 2005. The new album features more of the touching ballads the singer has become known for, including First Love and "Soliloquy". Highlighting Shin Hye Sung's beautiful vocals, "The Day I Met For the First Time" is written, composed, and arranged by Park Chang Hyun, who previously wrote "The Same Idea" and "Hidden Camera" for his first album. In addition to the Japanese versions of "The Same Idea" and First Love, there are two bonus Japanese tracks - "Tears" and "I Just Want to Hold You" - that are only available on the Japan release.
This edition comes with a photo book.

Well, it's hard not to love Hyesung. His sweet and sensitive persona resonates in the tenderness of his voice. My favorite voice in the group Shinhwa, I bought his first album two years ago and was instantly enchanted by his moving and angelic voice. He has definitely done it again! The second album is wonderfully constructed. It includes plenty of the ballads that Hyesung is famous for, but also incorporates a lot of new and eclectic sounds. (#12 Wibi, #7 Na-ee) As a tiny bonus, I was happily surprised to see that Rain (Bi) actually wrote "Island". It is real treasure...My personal favorite is "Joong Shim" (#10). A funky and (dare I say) unbelievably cute dance song. If he were to do more songs like this, I think he could cross over the ballad genre and do so much more. My only disappointment is that it seemed to be mostly ballads, when it seems proven that he is capable of so much more.An artist so versatile should not be tied to one genre. His new image is representative of his continuing musical maturity, his voice is more controlled but by no means less compelling. I congratulate him on this accomplishment, and look forward to his future creative ventures. Bravo! |

Good
| I had never heard of Shin Hye Sung, nor listened to any of Shinhwa's music, but my watching some of his older mv's and reading the reviews I decided to go ahead and order it. I was slightly displeased with this album, not by his voice, but by the overpowering music that drowned out the wonderful voice in some of the songs. Some of the songs are just okay while others are outstanding, I would recommend this album to others though because like everyone has stated that this man is extremely talented. |

He's back.. I'm talking about the amazing Shin Hye-Sung!! I bought the album in Korea on the release day and I have to say it's an amazing album!! He really knows how to sing and write lyrics!! In my point of view Shin Hye-Sung has the best voice of all the members of Shinhwa! |

Nice ballads~~
| Once again, Hyesung has produced another great album of ballads which is both soulful and easy-listening. Compared to his last album, there are fewer upbeat songs, however the album is well worth it. It also comes with a photobook. |
