Love Improbable
|
In "Love Impossible", Jo In Sung plays Chul Soo, the son of the man who heads South Korea's National Intelligence Service. Chul Soo is a college student who neglects his studies while he throws himself into the endless pursuit of girls. Lacking enough credits to graduate, he gains extra college credit be agreeing to head up a team of South Korean students to travel to Yanbian, China on an archeological dig. In Yanbian Chul Soo meets and immediately falls in love with Young Hee (Kim Sa Rang), the daughter of North Korea's top military officer. Young Hee is heading up a team of North Korean students who also will be working on the dig. The upright and virtuous Young Hee will have none of Chul Soo's silly antics. Can Chul Soo overcome her resistance and win her heart? And can two people from such warring backgrounds hope for a life together? These kinds of improbable "opposites attracting" romantic comedies practically write themselves and the filmmakers here don't really try anything new or fresh. Through most of the film, Jo In Sung overplays his skirt-chasing character. Kim Sa Rang fares much better and the film's setting of Yanbian provides some interesting local color. "Love Impossible" is a pretty dopey affair, but it ends nicely. |

Not as funny as I thought
|
I bought this movie a year ago because I like Cho In Sung. Somehow, I did not feel like watching the movie until today. I thought I knew how the movie ended and did not think I would like it. I also thought this was a laugh out loud movie but it is not. It is kind of like a nice romance story. The only few parts that made me laugh were Cho In Sung, especailly the part when he had his mouth wide open and water just drooling out of his mouth when the girl was talking to him, The ending is touching but not realistic. Honestly, I cannot see moving myself a very strange country just because I love someone. We are talking a lifetime commiment to a cause you don't beleive in and have to raise the kids that way too. That is like throwing your whole life away. |

North meets south
| Very Good Movie. North meets south, fell in love and find its way to be together again after 5 years, inspite of their cultural & political differences. It is also a story of how a playboy became a completely changed person because of the girl he fell in love with in a foreign land. Love every minute of it. |

Very nice
| Niceeee...movie. Again, this movie shows how they conquer their love regardless if they belong to south or north Korea. The ending too is very nice. The guy coming to North Korea because of his undying love for the girl asking her hand in marriage in from of policiticians, of course, in real life this will not happen. Very entertaining. |

Worth it
|
THis movie in the beginning seems like any other movie you've seen with a playboy hooking up with an innocent girl. Cho In Sung (in the story) tries many different ways to get hooked up with the girl. She is from North Korea which is very different from any love story because Jo In Sung is from the south. As he tries countless times, she slowly falls in love with him. She knows that although she may love him, she can never be with him. Their relationship is found out and she is sent back to North Korea. First it may seem like a typical love story, but then part of it has political problems. For example the North and South. They can't be together because of this. |

Touching...
| The movie at the beginning isn't all that great. Just like most korean movies, its just playboys hooking onto girls. But as the story goes on, and the guy shows his love to his mother who has passed away, reveals his true and deep self. After meeting the girl, he falls deeply into her. What he had given up to be with his girl was touching. A storyline using the South & North of Korea is a new and interesting concept. Good movie overall and worth watching. |
