Under-rated Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The music on this album is simple, and that can't be denied, but in a change from much of her later work the CD contains a real variation in mood and style without a feeling of having to fake it as some other artists might create when trying a similar tapestry. From bouncy happy tunes down to the pretty ballads, it's a loveable CD.

It's important to remember that, despite the simplicity of a lot of the music, it achieves it's worth through very clever arrangements and core writing values. Ai Chan's voice may be thin compared to other singers, but it perfectly suits the music behind it as the majority of the songs have a very sweet and innocent undertone and much or the arrangement focuses on mid-range tones from piano and guitar mainly.

All in all, this CD could be criticized for not being a fantastic work of art, but my estimation of a CD is how much enjoyment you can actually get from it, and on an emotional, a joyful and a musical level I would say this is a treat that only the most cold hearted of people couldn't take a liking to.

Some won't understand Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
Ai Chin is very special. She doesn't count on her looks to make her popular as she always wears such baggy clothes, so it's not like she's TRYING to be cute! >_< Her music is special and unique while mean people will never understand it. It's lively and will get you in such good moods! Whenever me or my family is sad, I play Otsuka Ai and the immediately get happy. It's more than just "cute"..it's meaningful and sweet. Ai has an absolutely beautiful sound to her voice...it's smooth, soft, and heavenly. n_n This was her debut album, so of course it isn't as good as her recent ones...but, for a debut, it's so great!!! Ai Chin's happiness is contagious and her emotional ballads are heart-touching. =) Some people just won't understand.

When will she learn Customer Review Rated Bad 0 - 0 out of 10

Just because she is cute does not make that a singer. Anyway she can´t sing and sings of key all the time and the music is still too happy and childish. The lyrics are little better then last time but still nothing special. I still don´t get what´s special about her and I give this CD 1 star. This CD feels so fake and empty with no real feeling and the music never changes. Always so happy and boring.

I like her music a lot~ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
It's rather harsh saying her voice sounds like that of a 10 year old. I think her music is beautiful. I'd recommend it to apparently anyone younger than 30. I'm 20, and I think that it's an excellent choice. The pictures inside should not be made to make the singer LOOK better. Why should anyone care what she looks like? She has a wonderful voice. I'm sorry that age has made some people sour enough to write such awful and untrue things about something that I consider to be truly a work of art.

I should have guessed by the cover... Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
This CD is definitely for a younger audience than myself (I am 30 years old). The singer has the highest soprano voice I have ever heard, and while it is not ear-piercing, it does have that helium quality that gives the impression of her age being about 10 years old. All the songs are dis-jointed and have no flow. The music is overpowering and not flattering to her at all. Her range is all over the place. She has potential, but this CD is not good. I would only buy it for a child. All the photos in her booklet that comes with the CD show her acting silly and immature and really are not flattering at all. I think this singer needs some voice training to get her voice a bit lower and some new song material that is less annoying, while still up-beat (because she is obviously an up-beat type of girl), and a new photographer who can show her more attractively. I only played about half this CD, so maybe it got better, but I couldn't tolerate the awful noise of her voice and screeching instruments any longer. I think I will be giving this CD away...I would never play it. On the other hand...if she matures and makes some changes, I think she could be talented. She has been totally mis-directed with the production of this CD.

Brilliant debut Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Whether or not we want to except it or not, ayu (avex "queen" of j-pop) is slowly but surely churning out some of the worst music that the normally broad and well thought out company usually supplies to their ever-growing audience. While ayu's record sales do not mirror the above statment, they are nowhere near the incredible sales records that were coming in at the turn of the millenium. So what the heck does ayumi hamasaki have to do with relative newcomer ootsuka ai? well, ayu might just wanna watch her back and hold on dearly to that crown.
ootuka ai is probably the most vibrant, colorful and heartfelt artist on the j-pop scene today. She's more than just a cute and strong voice, but a great pianist as well, which provided great and original character to a number of her songs. Her 400,000 copy selling single "sakuranbo" was written by ootsuka herself, as well as all the songs on the album. While many of her songs, including the best-selling "sakuranbo", are cute, fresh and very cheerful, her more heartfelt and tender songs such as "shabondama" and "amenbo" prove that ootsuka is more than just a "cute girl", but a powerful singer with a lot on her mind and a bright future ahead of her.
The entire album could be paralleled to life itself- happy, quiet, sad and lonesome, humerous, and as the closing track suggests to us all, to be close to one another and be "always together".

Excellent Premeire Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Ai's been consistantly releasing singles, and finally here is a strong album with all of them - "Momo no Hanabira," "Sakuranbo," and "Amaenbo". This album ranges from epic ballads to cutesy rap songs. If you want to insult Ai, it can't be about her lack of variety. Even the two videos included are quite different - "Shabondama" is low-action, sort of angsty while "Kataomoi Dial" is very busy and cute. Notable new songs are "Kataomoi Dial," "Ishikawa Osaka Yukou Joyaku," "Ame no Naka no Melody," and "Always Together".
