Director Derek Chiu (Love Au Zen) and screenwriter Aubrey Lam (Hidden Track) collaborate on Love Trilogy, an intelligent and refreshingly mature light drama about the trials of three couples in varying stages of love. Award-winning Hong Kong actors Francis Ng and Anita Yuen star as a bickering Hong Kong married couple who celebrate their seventh anniversary by taking a tour of Kunming, China. However, tensions are high, and possible divorce is in the offing. Meanwhile, a newlywed couple (Lu Yu and Han Xiao) is on the same tour, and find their newly-married status tested by their continued companionship. A Korean couple (Oh Ji Ho and Yun Re Yi) rounds out the "trilogy", but they may not even get to marriage, as fundamental differences seem to be making themselves known. Popular Chinese starlet Ruby Lin (Princess Returning Pearl) is on board as their tour guide, who offers insight and even unexpected personal complications with the three couples. Thanks to Aubrey Lam's intelligent script and Derek Chiu's sensitive direction, Love Trilogy is an uncommon film about the sometimes difficult realities of modern love and marriage.

This is not typical lovestory movie! I like this movie style a lot, makes me interesting before when i saw storyline! Juno and Ruby's chemistry looks good even if they use different languages! |

Totally agree with prev Cantonese critique on this

I totally agree with the previous Chinese critique on this one. This is a movie that crosses different stages of a relationship, from first encounter, to newly wed, to marriage (after 7 years), as well as unrequited love. Characters are aren't always loveable. If one finds that this is the case, then it serves to remind ourselves not to be like them (which is, as demonstrated, quite difficult). For those who cannot read Chinese, the previous review says that if we slowly absorb the stories, we will realize that they somehow portray our own experiences some time one way or another. |

Horrible Movie, don't buy it!
| I bought this movie because I love Ruby Lin and Lu Yi. However, this movie was soooo bad! I tried to watch it but I just couldn't. Ruby and Lu Yi played weak characters that just didn't interest me. It was produced horribly, the subtitles were really tiny, and the settings always looked too dark. It was boring to watch and personally that actress in the first couple actress is so annoying to watch. I wished I never wasted my money on this movie. |
