Loveholic is the latest top quality Korean drama to be released from KBS. It tells the story of young Seo Kang Uk (Kang Ta), the high school bad boy, who begins a relationship with the most unlikely of people - his high school teacher!
Kim Min Seon plays the beautiful Lee Yul Ju, the teacher who breaks every rule in the book by falling in love with her student. A warm-hearted, optimistic and respected young woman, Yul Ju shrugs off the social prejudices that arise as a result of her relationship. But then, Yul Ju has always been a fighter - she has had to deal with narcolepsy her whole life.
Tragedy strikes the young couple when Yul Ju accidentally causes the death of one of Kang Uk's classmates. However, Yul Ju also suffers a seizure and forgets the incident ever occured. To protect the woman he loves, Kang Uk takes the blame for the boy's death and is sentenced to five years in prison.
On his release, Kang Uk is determined to rebuild his relationship with Yul Ju, but he discovers that she is now engaged to somebody else...

Feelings of Loveholic

This is the first time I've made a review on this page. I really want to express my feelings about Loveholic to everyone. I'm a fan of Loveholic. I admire Suh Kang Wook's love for his teacher (Lee Yool Joo) so much. I wish there would be a person loving me like him. Whenever I watch Loveholic, my heart beats strongly and I'm moved to tears. Loveholic is the Korean drama which is not like the others. I think it's different!!! I just want to say it's wonderful to me because of the content, the way Kang Ta and Kim Min sun act each other. It's really sweet and passionate!!! I'm so sorry about Loveholic is not available. However, I hope anybody who really want to watch Loveholic will soon find it out. I believe that there's still Loveholic somewhere. Please enjoy Loveholic and support it like me. P/S: I really like the review of Mon-Mon!!! Thank you so much. How exciting what you wrote are!!! I will be very glad if I can chat to you!!! |

All-time Favorite Korean Drama
| I just finished watching this drama. I've heard about it before, but never got around to watching it. It is an excellent drama. I absolutely recommend it. Before watching this drama, I did not know any of the cast members, except for Lee Sun Kyoon from "The Coffee Prince". I have heard of Kangta's name, but that was about it. I am now an idolizing fan of his ever since watching this drama, and I am not the only one that confesses this. This is Kangta's first Korean drama and to me, I think he did a very good job for someone without a lot of acting experience. There were scenes that he acted so well it made the scenes memorable, that's how good he was. Kim Min Sun is an amazing actress, very professional. She did such an excellent acting job in this drama, like a veteran actress. What I love about this drama is that there are no evil characters among the 4 main cast, which is usually a common feature in other Korean love-tragedy stories. Because of the love-tragedy theme, I kind of expected nothing short of a sad ending. I mean, how else do love-tragedy stories end but tragic?! To my surprise, this drama ended happy and I couldn't be more satisfied. So if you hate sad endings but want to watch a good love-tragedy story, you have got to watch this. This drama kind of reminded me of "Stairway to Heaven", only thankfully not as dramatic or tragic. The first 3 episodes are the best, filled with all the love relationship development and happy memories. Starting with episode 4, we start grabbing the tissue box. I sobbed maybe once and then teary eyes a few times, but that's about it. There were many memorable quotes in the drama that are worth hearing, learning, and remembering. One of my favorite lines from the drama is in the last episode when the main character, Kang Wook, says to his love (Yool Joo): "As long as you're living in this world, I would have the courage to carry on living". If you can't feel the signifance of this line, then you have to watch the drama. Even now, when I read that line, it resonates throughout. As many Korean drama fanatics know, a lot of Korean dramas start off really good, then drags the plot slowly through the rest of the episodes until the ending. In this one, even though the story started moving slower after episode 4, each episode didn't bore me into skipping to the end. I would like to add that not everyone would like this drama. My sister thought it was boring from watching the first episode. I guess it depends on what type of dramas you prefer to watch. For example, I know my friend hates war movies, so of course if she had to write a review for a war movie, she'd give it a 1 star. Keep that in mind for the person who gave this drama a low rating. So to reviewer Paul, I've watched "Phoenix" (Bul Se) and that drama was so boring. I am a person that watches every episode and does not skip to the end and I had to force myself to watch every episode of "Phoenix". The only good parts were the ones with Eric in the beginning episodes. Plus, did you really understood the drama, Loveholic? Yoo In Young is the girl that portrays as having a one-sided love for Kangta. She is not Kangta's girlfriend, but more like girl (female) friend. There is a difference. Plus, I thought she was a fine DJ. She said a lot of good quotes on her radio show just like a real life DJ. This is just a difference of opinions. You can watch this drama online for free. Just search for it because that's how I first watched this drama. It is so good I want to buy it and keep it. So sad to see that it's unavailable everywhere! |

I loved it!!!
| This drama leads me to liking Kangta so much not only as an actor but as singer. Although the sickness of the lead actress is something that i need heard of... at least in the end they ended up together. |

Superb!!!
| This is one of the first Kdramas I ever watched and it is fantastic!!! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! Kang ta really impresses here with his intense emotional display of undying love for his older romantic partner. Having said that, shes isnt THAT much older than him and she is sooo pretty and charismatic. I can say that and I am a female! Enjoy this as it is by far so much better than "Stairway to Heaven" (I really dont get the vast appeal of that drama as it is wrapped up in suger-coated icing and is so unrealistic). This drama is great...and a must see!! |
