Loveholic are loose on the K-pop scene again with honey-sweet sounds on their latest full-length album Nice Dream.
The trio consisting of female vocalist Ji Seon, Kang Hyon Min, and Lee Jae Hak that debuted with the 2003 CD Florist are finally back with their follow up work to '04's album Invisible Things. It comes with the principal tracks "Sarah's Forest" (Track 2) and the popular tune One Love that can be heard as inserted song in the KBS drama series Spring Waltz, which stars Han Hyo Joo, Lee So Yeon, Seo To Young, and Daniel Henney. "Sarah's Forest" is an energetic mid-tempo number with a calm opening and Loveholic's trademark chorus in the latter part of the song. Also offering other potential hit material layered with the band's high quality sound and harmonic rhythms, Loveholic makes a Nice Dream become reality for all devotees of fine K-pop!

타이틀곡 <차라의 숲>은 생기있고 활기찬 미들템포 넘버다. 러브홀릭 특유의 코러스와 함께 등장하는 전주로부터 차분하게 진행되는 인트로, 그리고 러브홀릭의 트레이드 마크인 '중독성 강한 클라이막스'로 이뤄지는 곡의 진행은 길지 않은 4분여의 러닝타임동안 끊임없이 변화하는 극적 전개로 노래가 언제 지나갔는지 모르게 만든다. 러브홀릭이 3집 앨범에서 가장 크게 변화한 부분은 바로 '드라마틱한 분위기'이다. 이곡을 더욱 드라마틱하게 만드는 것은 밝고 명랑한 분위기를 지니고 있음에도 불구하고 감정적으로 애수가 서려있다는 점이다. 노래의 감정 역시 단순하지 않고 드라마틱 한 것이다.
드라마 '봄의 왈츠'에 삽입되면서 큰 인기를 얻고 있는역시 이번 3집 음반의 수록곡이다. 또한 3집에서는 오랫동안 많은 이들의 귓가에 맴돌 넘버 역시 도사리고 있다. 차분하며 부드러운 리듬 위에 얹혀진 몽환적이며 감각적인 사운드들이 우수어린 지선의 목소리를 감싸고 있는 <화분>은 러브홀릭의 음반이 소모적인 히트곡만으로 가득한 앨범이 아니라 오랫동안 듣는 이들의 플레이어를 떠나지 않게 하는 장점으로 가득하다는 것을 증명하고 있다.

Nice beats!

I heard of Loveholic through listening to Epik High and decided to check out their albums. It's surprisingly nice and calming, but it makes you want to get up and dance (like Clazziquai). ^_^ I really liked this album. Ji Sun's voice is so beautiful. I really recommend this album. |

Great power pop

This album was my introduction to Loveholic and I am very happy to make this group's acquaintance. They have a beautiful pop-rock sound that reminds me a little of Sixpence None The Richer and a little of the J-Pop group My Little Lover. They quite clearly have been influenced by the Beatles, but they have developed a style that is all their own. The thirteen tracks on this album run the gamut of soft rock styles and I enjoy them all. I particularly enjoy the fourth track, a power ballad, but there are no bad songs here, no filler. These are supremely catchy songs, filled with big pop hooks, delivered in a distinctively warm style. This may sound like I am overpraising this album, but I honestly can't imagine that anyone could listen to it and not enjoy it. Loveholic's "Nice Dream" fully deserves my highest recommendation. |

This is a really great CD by the group, they always do phenomenal work. You will not be disappointed in buying this, I highly, highly recommend you pick this up. Must have! even better than the last
| I was browsing yesasia a few days after I arrived here in korea for my vacation....and after finding out that loveholic had released their 3rd entry...I just had to buy it....if you've ever listened to their first cd buy this one...there isn't even a point to preview a song from the cd imo....if you like the type of music that is loveholic buy it you won't regret it! |
