Not your average idol song
|
Endearing,Classy and Nostalgic. They say beautiful people singing about sad lost love struggle to capture people's hearts but Loveless proves to be an exception! Loveless is a breathe of fresh air compared to the typical idol JE songs. This one isnt about rainbows and all things sweet and bright. Its got a more western vibe with a lot of eastern romantic soul. Yamapi's versatility is encompassed quite well as the Btracks features a different feel. Crush on you gives you the cool hip 80's feel while Moonlight of which he wrote himself is more on the edgy mysterious adult romance and then theres After the Rain which is a personal favourite after Loveless that is all about a sweet and classy side of pure love. As for the art work, its got the whole renaissance classic hero feel to it and come on now its Yamashita Tomohisa's face on the cover - need I say anymore. |

A realistic love song
|
I really loved this single by Yamashita. Though I was never a fan, I ran into the PV online and immediately fell in love with the lyrics to this song. The lyrics speak of a break-up where both parties will eventually have to say goodbye... however, how can they do so when they thought each other was their destiny. Yamashita seems to have a slight alto voice and not enough range for my taste, but this really fit this song so well that I couldn't complain. It gives the song a slight yearning feeling and I can't stress how much this song fits his voice. P.S. My only peeve is that the only other song I liked in his single release was 'After the Rain' which only comes in the Normal Edition version. However, I love the PV as well, so this single is really making you choose between the songs and the PV. Amazing Yamashita! ^_^ Johnny's has been doing quite a good job this year. |

Worth It!
Worth It!

Wow, this has been a long wait since his last CD. I didn't know what to expect from this package, but I can you that it is a pleasant surprise and well worth it, at least for me anyway. Yamashita has a relatively attractive voice and I've rated both Loveless and Run from You with 5 stars. The surprise is the video documentary making of Loveless which took place in New York City and especially Central Park. I expected the DVD to end within a few minutes, but instead it went on for quite a while. I like Central Park a lot and the segment that he was filmed around the northeast section covering the bridge, ponds, benches and Beattles (?) pavement bears significance to me personally. I don't think Yamashita is that hot of a dancer, but he is a good singer with a killer looks! :) I've also bought his single and it is well worth it too. I've given the rest of his vocal tracks with 4 stars rating and even the music track sounds nice. |
