Michiko Magic
| First class combination of comedy and action as Lam Ching Ying battles it out with the fabulously beautiful Michiko Nishiwaki in Hong Kong; the supporting cast are all excellent, especially Billy Chow as the controlled and sinister servant of Michiko. The humour is light and uncynical and all the more enjoyable for it, while the final confrontation between Michiko and Lam Ching Ying, which includes a fight between the lead and Billy Chow, is increasingly ferocious and a suitable finale for the film. While perhaps not as consistently entertaining as 'Mr. Vampire', 'Magic Cop' is a gem of a film, with Lam Ching Ying at the top of his Taoist game and Michiko in her best and most seductive role ever. It's only a shame that there was no 'Magic Cop 2'. |

Another one of those oldies but goodies
| This movie is wonderful. As always, there's the humor and also the action. I still think Lam Ching Ying is one of the greatest when it comes to scary movies. There's no exception for this movie. He plays a skillful cop who uses his "special" abilities to deal with the supernatural, ghosts, and what not. A must add to your collection! |
