政治を辛辣に風刺するトークショーのホストを務めるトムが、大統領に立候補することになった。トークショーのホストという職業柄、派手なパフォーマンスの討論会はお手の物。やがてトムは、みごと当選を果たしてしまう。だが、この当選は、実は電子投票システムの故障によるものだった。システムを所有するデラクロイ社の役員たちは、急騰した自社の株価を守るため、故障の隠蔽を開始。だが、プログラマーのエリナは、コンピューターの故障で当選したという事実をトムに知らせようとして…。
