かつて世界の平和と秩序を護っていたビクトリア・アイランドの世界樹を、悪の組織「ザッタ団」が我が物にしようとした際、人間族を中心として（アルの父、グランデ）他４部族が立ち上がった。しかし、ザッタ団の猛威に最悪のピンチを迎える。世界樹は、その身を護るために自らを破裂させ、その際ホウセンカのように種を放った。部族の一部は、ビクトリア・アイランドからメイプルアイランドに移住した。しかし、世界樹の破壊に人間族が関わっていると他部族から疑われ、人間族は追いやられてしまった。さらに部族同士の諍いも絶えなくなった。それが１０年ほど前の事だった。そして今、アルを中心にその世界樹の種を探し、世界樹を復活させる旅に出る。それを再び狙うのがザッタ団であった！
