July 27, 2005 Truly a work of art...
Ive been a fan of Kagrra for a year now, and I finally got around buying their music by starting off with their new album, ~san~. Wow! This album is truly remarkable, and the Limited Edition package makes the experience alot more enjoyable! Unlike a lot of the Visual Kei J-Rock bands, Kagrra has a somewhat different sound, a traditional sound to be exact. The first track, murakumo, makes this point clear very well. As the album grows, you will hear amazing instrumental talent, and soothing vocals from the bands vocalist, Ishhi. Their featured song Satsuki, is really amazing! It creates the perfect atmosphere for ~sans~ sound, cover art, and also the new album photo shots of the band. Together, I believe that Kagrra is the perfect band to set an example as good music. THE LAST NIGHT (Normal Edition)(Japan Version)
May 15, 2005 Good, and well...it's okTHE LAST NIGHT is Ayas third single after the release of her second album T.W.O. This song is a nice, and powerful ballad which in some, and many parts of the song, Aya sings very powerfully through the versus, and giving it all in the chorus. I thought the song was really good, and the length was excellent. Though I think this may be one of my least favorite singles from Aya. The Last Night is a very good song, sang very well, but it doesnt sound that different from her other ballads. Actually, the song that usually comes to mind would have to be Hajimete Kuchibiru wo Kasaneta Yoru. Regardless though, the song is very good to the point that its listenable, to even fans who dont like Ayas previous, or future works. The second song DO YOU LOVE? is a very catchy, faster paced song when compared to The Last Night. I really enjoyed this song, but after the second listen it really became repetitive quite early. Its still really fun though, but the atmosphere is so-so normal. Anyways, both the songs on this single, including the instrumental version of The Last Night; are really quite good. Though, I just didnt feel as though this is one of Ayas interesting releases, as in tone and sound. THE LAST NIGHT would have to be my least favorite single released by Aya; out of the collection which I own. Though, if youre an Aya fan this will prove excellent as always. If youre not, you will still like the mix of styles between these two songs. Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Zutto Suki de Iidesuka (with 5 photo cards)(Limited Edition)(Japan Version)
March 2, 2005 Always improving!I want to be the first one to say, Im quite disappointed by only one thing from this single. That is, that its Ayas fifth to be release, which I personally think is a bit too much, because it means if her new album contains a lot of singles, it will in fact, have a small number of new songs. But with that small pint of negativity out of the way, I just want to say this single is terrific! Zutto suki de ii desu ka was sung very wonderfully in my personal opinion, it shows not only how easily Aya can control her voice, but it also shows that she can surpass her normal potential. Most fans, have also noticed that Aya has matured, mainly based on her current singles. Which I must agree with; is true. This is not a bad thing though, Ayas voice, talents, looks, and overall style is always amazing and surprising as always. After watching plenty of live shows of this song, I must say, it sometimes seems really easy for Aya to sing. Which brings me to my next point; shes improved. Many will notice this also if they have seen her past concerts/tours. Zutto suki de ii desu ka is coupled with a song called Yume, which is really jazzy and at some point after listening to it, can be really catchy. For some reason I get the same feelings as I did with her song Yokohama Sing a Song, which also had a quite similar feel. Lastly, like always, the third track is an instrumental version of the singles main song, Zutto suki de ii desu ka. I suggest this to all Aya fans. I know some may be disappointed that it seems her fast pace songs are decreasing, but Ayas spark shows that shes capable of singing songs more beautifully in the future. I'm sure she will. February 14, 2005 Ok, but a little bit overdone
This is such a great single! Evolution is one of the most popular songs she has released; it's very energetic and will get you going to listen to it again, and again. The remixes are great as always, but because there is so many, this single might get really repetitive and dull after a while. Even so, this is still great. If you love Evolution and wouldn't mind the remixes, then get this! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This) -
Watarasebatsu (Normal Edition)(Japan Version)
February 3, 2005 An excellent reconstruct!Watarasebashi is Ayas fourth single since her last album. The atmosphere of this song is very traditional, touching, and beautifully sung, of course. After witnessing many TV performances by Aya singing this song, I must say her voice goes perfectly with this. Priority of this single should be little higher because of the song I LOVE YOU no Tsuzuki, which is most likely to only show up on this single, and not her next album. To any Aya fan, I definitely suggest this single! Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
