Set in 1930s Shanghai, Mainland period drama Maritime Legend stars award-winning actress Siqin Gaowa (The Post Modern Life of My Aunt) and Taiwanese actress Jacqueline Wu (A Moment of Romance). Wu has become fairly elusive in recent years, and this is one her of few screen appearances. Co-starring Li Minqi and Wang Yu, Maritime Legend is a gripping tale of love, deception, and crime in the high seas.

In the eastern seas, there is a seafaring female outlaw, Leung Giafeng (Siqin Gaowa), who is honored as a heroine for her just sword and Robin Hood-like exploits. Liang sends her men to assassinate Shanghai mob boss Gu (Li Minqi), but the plan fails. She does manage to catch Gu's goddaughter and top henchman, only to discover that they have eloped and are being hunted by Gu. Worried for her mother's safety, Liang's daughter Yulian (Jacqueline Wu) releases the prisoners, and ends up getting evicted from the island as punishment. Liang's adopted son Hailung follows to look after Yulian, but gets attacked by Gu's men on the way. As Leung and Gu clash head to head, a shocking secret is revealed, bringing a new round of violence and conflict.
