A dud Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
Marry a Rich Man is a dud. Two thumbs down for this movie. Hugely immensely disappointed. This movie is a flop. There were a few laughs. The story concept is based on cinderella and the other half is trying to make it look like a reality show. Bad idea to make it seem like a reality show. Bad bad idea.

cinderella in 2000 Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
this movie is like a modern re-make of cinderella, although the prince has his secrets too. sammy's role in this movie is also different from her other romantic movies, where she typically plays the role of an innocent and ignorant girl. here, her character runs the family business and takes an active role in her own life. nice change.

Entertaining movie for young and old! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
My grandma recently hooked on watching chinese movies. Among the 100 movies she watched in a matter of weeks included lots of drama, love story, comedy and even chinese operas. She insisted I watched this entertaining movie with her. Well, I must admit this movie is more entertaining than I thought. When I first watched this movie in 2002, I felt the story is too simple and old story. On re=watching this movie, I enjoyed it even more...learned to appreciate the beautiful scenery in Milan, Italy , enjoyed the acting, enjoyed the movie songs and all the characters combined into a nice cute movie. Compared to the other 2 chinese new year movies in 2002, this is definitely a touch better to watch....no wonder it was the top gross chinese movies in 2002.

Director is Vincent Kok Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
I was a huge Sammi fan and have watched nearly all the movies she has acted in.It was very obvious that I was going to buy this because I had enjoyed watching Sammi and Richie in the movie Summer Holiday which turns out to be my most favorite movie ever. So I had to get this Marry a Rich Man because it stars Sammi and Richie which is their 2nd collaboration. Little beknowest the director is Vincent Kok who is usually seen in movies in little bit parts. He's a funny guy but I am disappointed by his directing skills and story line. I only enjoyed a few parts in this movie: the part where Sammi meets Richie on the airplane, so cute how they swap English words and terms. Gosh Richie's smile is damn irresistible so cute! I liked the part when they eat like hungry maniac's at the Italian restaurant. I like the part when Richie takes off his close on the freezing streets of Italy and gets arrested for indecent exposure. Gosh Richie has a gorgeous muscular body. I liked the part when Richie and his mechanic buddies (the very funny and talented Cheung Tat Ming is in this group) go to a night club. Wow Richie looks so handsome in that scene. I liked the song that Richie sings which is also the opening theme song of the movie and can be found on his cd 'I am a rich man'. I think this movie was okay and felt it could have been better and tighter. I will always prefer Summer Holiday.

this movie is okay. it's one of those movies where you watch it once, and that's it. the story line isn't all that at all either.
