朝鮮戦争下の移動米軍外科病院（Ｍｏｂｉｌ Ａｒｍｙ Ｓｕｒｇｉｃａｌ Ｈｏｓｐｉｔａｌ）に３人の軍医が配属された。腕はピカイチの名医だが、揃いも揃って突拍子もない横紙破り。血の海の中で朝から晩まで手足を切ったり縫い合わる仕事が終わると、寸暇を惜しんでは猥雑極まりないイタズラに精を出す。軍規を無視してやりたい放題をし、お固い女性将校をからかうのに夢中になる……。彼女のベッドシーンを軍放送で流してみたり、彼女がシャワーを浴びている小屋の壁と屋根を壊したり……。人間が造りだした“戦争”という愚かなゲームに対抗してハメをはずす人々を描いた痛烈な戦争コメディ。
