This is a love triangle tragedy set in a background of social class issues.

Its nothing amazingly special regarding plot. The three main actors explain their characters quite well but the relationship between them is not explained in enough detail to give us a good sentiment for the real issue between them. The nature of the female character may be found by most people as frustrating. Indeed the story as a whole is slightly frustrating and although of course it is unreal it is not as satisfying as an emotional exercise or thought experiment as it could have been.

    HOWEVER:

That is not to say the drama is not enjoyable but I feel that many will not be willing to forgive the weaknesses in the plot and the characters to be able to immerse themselves in the story. There may be some unsatisfying gaps that will not be filled in to much benefit by your own musings.

A significant portion of this drama is contained within issues of social status: rich poor, elitist, class separations etc. Of course for people who experience these issues it will offer an added kick and in light of the ravages of economic issues in korea during the IMF crises many people will find this story compelling in this respect.

There is an important message brought to light in this drama and one that will touch many people particularly parents. It is perhaps in this respect that the drama redeems itself against any charges of being slightly weak in the love story.

Regarding the love story, I find that other dramas are much more exciting or emotionally charging than this one.

As a whole it conveys an important message and has a shocking conclusion, in the end overall I was slightly dissatisfied but that is because of my frustrations with the characters which of course is part of what was intended. You may not like it as such but you will at least feel it was important to watch or worth watching.

May 26, 2008 Review: Im sorry, I love you Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
PLOT: This is a tragety based on misinformation and misunderstanding. It revolves around a mother-son relationship as well as a love triangle as the major plots. All of what I just said utterly fails to convey the richness of the plot even though it is typically basic.

STYLE: The drama is designed to make you reflective and introspective. As such, devastating psychological bombs are dropped almost every 5 minutes and you are allowed the time to reflect on them with the slowly paced imagery and acting. The actors are excellent at treading the fine line between overdoing it by giving you too much and giving you too little. The result is that you are immersed and lead in the story and yet free to dream alongside it as it unfolds.

Reason to watch: The story is heartbreaking and will remain with you always. Not because of its content but because of its power to involve you and to experience something quite emotionally powerful that leads you to think about a wide range of deeply serious issues encountered in life and death. You may think back on this drama years later and simply remember it was beautiful and what a pleasure it will be to reflect on why that is so.

Reason not to watch: If you do not have the time or the inclination or the desire to be romantic about moral issues and submit yourself to be guided through someones dream but instead stick rigidly to your own then you will find this unsuitable. But I would urge you most strongly to experience this drama as you will be touched. Again this drama is not for emotionally immature or callous people who recklessly disregard moral issues.
