Would you want to recover the memories of the person you love the most, even if they’re the final moments before his death? This is the dilemma that Izumi faces in Matataki (a.k.a. Piecing Me Back Together), the tragic drama based on the Kawahara Ren novel of the same name. Kitakawa Keiko (Hana no Ato) plays Izumi, a woman who works with a lawyer - played by Otsuka Nene (Amalfi) - to piece the final moments in the life of her boyfriend (Okada Masaki, Confessions). Reuniting after sharing the screen in television drama Taiyo to Umi no Kyoshitsu, Kitakawa and Okada share immense screen chemistry as the star-crossed lovers in the flashback scenes depicting their romance, creating the emotional core of the film. Written and directed by Isomura Itsumichi (Gege), this tender romantic drama is a touching reminder to appreciate the people you love before it's too late.

Izumi (Kitakawa Keiko) is inflicted by Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder after being in a motorcycle accident that killed her boyfriend Junichi (Okada Masaki) and sent her into a coma. Still reeling from the loss, Izumi finds herself unable to remember anything from the ten minutes between the accident and Izumi's coma. With the help of lawyer Makiko (Otsuka Nene), Izumi slowly puts the pieces back together and accept Junichi's death.
