Takako invited David Campbell, who also collaborated with her on her Harvest Song album, for arrangements. She personally penned 4 of the 10 tracks on Time for Music and also performs 5 English cover songs. In addition, fans can look forward to a cover of the 1967 hit Nobara Saku Michi, penned, composed, and originally sung by Takako's father Matsumoto Koushiro. Kitto Tsutaete, the side track off Takako's latest single Kimi to Nara, is also included in the album.

Another sophisticated gem from Matsu Takako Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10

Matsu Takako's "Time for music" album takes the listener in some unexpected and surprising directions. The opening track is the kind of sweetly soulful jazz number that Miss Matsu routinely knocks out of the park ... and she does so here, too. But then the surprises start to show up. She covers five English language songs, including the popular early 60s folk tune "500 Miles", a song sung by Kermit the Frog (!) in the "Muppet Movie" ("Rainbow Connection"), and one of the early hits by the 70s band America ("I Need You"). Although dipthongs are a challenge for Miss Matsu ("I need you" sounds like "I neeshu"), she navigates the English songs quite enchantingly. However, it is on the self-penned Japanese songs that Takako-san really shines. What unites the album is the consistent compositional beauty of these numbers. Well-written, masterfully played and recorded, and elegantly voiced by Miss Matsu, the songs on "Time for music" just get better and better with repeated playing.
