After three television dramas and one critically acclaimed film, the novel gets its fifth adaptation as a two-part television mini-series on TV Asahi. In this variation of the story, the younger detective (Tamaki Hiroshi, Nodame Cantabile) takes the spotlight as the central character, investigating the death of an old man with another detective (Kobayashi Kaoru, Quill). In addition to the new focus, this version also creates an original character of a female reporter, played by Nakatani Miki (Memories of Matsuko). A contemporary interpretation of a timeless work, this ambitious miniseries gives a new flavor to a much-loved classic.
