　　梅若鴻和杜芊芊第一相遇是在蘇堤上一個叫做“望山橋”的地方，梅若鴻被杜芊芊的美麗驚呆了，他迫不及待的要把芊芊帶回“醉馬畫會”給朋友們看。在這裡，芊芊看到了有生以來看過的最新奇的一群人：汪子默、汪子旋兄妹和一奇三怪。她愛上了若鴻，愛上了“醉馬畫會”愛上了若鴻的水雲間。然而若鴻不敢接受芊芊，卻把她推給了汪子默--一個年輕有為的畫家為芊芊打破了終生不愛的誓言，看著芊芊和子默在一起，若鴻又無法抑制自己的心。他愛芊芊，卻把默默愛了他三年的子旋當成了芊芊。
　　愛情的力量之強大令人不敢相信，芊芊為了鴻在胸前紋上一朵紅梅花，若鴻綞還是衝破杜家上下、醉馬畫會全體人員的反對接受了芊芊。這時子旋卻懷上了若鴻的孩子，險些流產住進了醫院。這讓子默非常地瘋狂，以致於做出了令人意想不到的舉動：他雇人到畫展上買下了若鴻二二幅心血之作，然後到杜家大院在慶祝的人群面前燒掉它們，叵鴻為了救畫了雙手受了傷，然而受傷更重的是他的信心、他的鬥志和芊芊的心以及所有人的心。
　　子默想透了，讓若鴻重新振作起來，重新拿回畫筆，收拾起自己的信心。
若鴻和芊芊以天地作證結了婚。
　　不久翠屏－－若鴻十年前的妻子，一個得了重病的女人，帶著若鴻從沒見過面的孩子畫兒來了。芊芊傷心欲絕，離開 了水雲間，回到了杜家。失去了芊芊的若鴻為了治翠屏的病，只得以賣畫為生，日子很苦，心更苦，善良的翠屏為了成全丈夫和芊芊，在深夜投湖自殺了。
　　若鴻再一次掉進了谷底，無人能叫醒他。
　　芊芊回來了，向他展示了他們愛情的見證——紋在她胸前的紅梅花。

I loved this movie at first because the scenery is so beautiful. Then the people started acting and there was some overacting here. And, then they started talking. Oh boy, they didn't know how to talk. Plenty of screaming. I don't know if it is Qoing Yao's fault for bad writing or the director's fault for allowing people to overact. The father did a lot of overacting and over screaming. I thought he was gonna have a heart attack every time he opened his mouth. The boy friend was good looking enough but he did his share of overacting and honestly, I did not think he had done anything that special to deserve the girl's love. I like the mother. Her acting is so natural .
