前作で奇跡的な優勝を飾り、オーナーも変わったインディアンスにはファンも大きな期待を寄せていた。しかし、昨年の成功に酔ったメンバーは自分らしさを見失い、チームはあっという間に最下位に。ファンにも見捨てられる落ちこぼれ球団に逆戻りしたが、それでも選手達の目は覚めない。しかし苦肉の策として日本のジャイアンツから日本人選手タカ・タナカ（石橋貴明）を獲得すると、彼の大和魂が少しずつメンバーの闘志に火をつけ始める。徐々に調子を取り戻すメンバーの中で豪腕投手ＷＩＬＤ ＴＨＩＮＧ リッキー・ボーン（チャーリー・シーン）のみが不調に苦しんでいたが、チーム自体は昨年の勢いを取り戻し、遂にリーグ２連覇をかけた試合に臨む。そして一進一退するゲームのクライマックスに、あのＷＩＬＤ ＴＨＩＮＧが流れる…。
