April 6, 2006 Absolute PerfectionWhether you have just discoved this band or if you just want a great collection of their best works, I definately recommend this CD. I have been playing it non-stop since I received it. All of the songs are terriffic and should not disappoint fans. I reccommend this Korean version, as it is cheaper than all other editions of this CD and comes with 2 bonus songs, especially for Korean fans! The lyric booklet is the same as you would find in the Japanese version and there is an additional booklet with the lyrics translated in Korean. But this CD today, you won't regret it! October 19, 2004 Exodus to US
If you are not familiar with the artist Utada, there are a few things you may like to know. Under her full name of Utada Hikaru, Utada had released 3 full legnth albums in Japan and 1 English language album under the monicher of Cubic U. Exodus is a great improvement upon Precious which she did as Cubic U. Utada's song writing has matured with every album and her song styles are never predictable. She brings her flavor to America with Exodus. Utada is making a crossover and Exodus should be looked at diffrently from her Japanese works. Many of the tracks have a dance feel, notably "The Workout". There is a rock track featuring drums by Jon Theodore of the Mars Volta (Kremlin Dusk) and a song with a pop feel (Easy Breezy). Also, "Let Me Give You my Love" has an R&B edge to it. No matter what type of music you like, Utada has put her own style into it.
As Utada says in "Animato", "This is not a time for reminicing/ This is something new and interesting/Why are you trying to classify this/ This is music for all humanity from me...
Listen to Exodus with new ears and take in the new style of Utada.Did you find this review helpful? Yes (Report This)
