A Nice Blend... Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
To CaitlynBrianna1976...the two dance tracks are actually #9 and #12. You listed #10, which is actually VERY rock in style. This CD is brilliant. Not only do you get pulsing latin beats...stellar pop ballads...moving rock songs...make you move dance tracks...you get them all from a top-notch cream-of-the-crop singer. She is marvelous. Simply unbelieveable. A must buy for talent and ability alone...not to mention for diversity!

Pleasant Customer Review Rated Bad 5 - 5 out of 10
This singer is always wonderful, and while on first listen you might hear the influences of U-Ka Saegusa and Miho Komatsu as others have mentioned...after you listen longer, you will hear the latin sounds coming out. It's no wonder this artist recorded a Spanish-language CD...she seems very content with the rythmns. This CD is based on contemporary rock, pop and dance...but listen closely and you will see that the mood is more Mediterrean than Japanese. There are Spanish guitars, sambas, and even bongos in places. It lends a very ethnic feel to the CD. Almost like a Spanish CD set to Japanese lyrics. I think the title "Message" might imply a message that all music is intertwined and harmonious and can be pleasantly combined for a unique and interesting experience. Definitely this CD has major latin moments. But, it's by a fabulous singer who has lots of talent and makes for a fun CD. The only song I do not like one bit is the last one...she could have easily left that one off this release and it would have been nice. But still...few CDs are 100% perfect and this one is a must buy for style and approach alone!

Wonderful Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Both reviewers are right: this CD is magnifique, however it is NOT a debut. The artist has been singing for quite some time, and is pretty consistant about combining rock, pop and dance elements in her songs. Still, this is her over-all BEST release and I highly recommend it to anyone. She's very appealing and her music is great. She had a lot of big-name help on this production and it shows. People should check out her earlier works and see her evolution. I like the mix of rock and dance, but I must agree that the two dance tracks do kind of stand out oddly on this release. Still, this is stellar and I cannot think of anyone who wouldn't enjoy it. A real joie and c'est beau!

excellent Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I agree with the previous reviewer...an excellent CD! In addition to the co-production of track #3 with Miho Komatsu, other big names on this release include members of DOA, Garnet Crow and U-Ka Saegusa's IN db band. So, it's no wonder this debut is a brilliant success. I do have to point out two glaring mis-steps with the style of the CD though...in general, the previous reviewer is correct. However, tracks #10 and #12 are distinct dance tracks that really do NOT fit with the over-all style of the CD. I think that those 2 tracks could have easily been omitted to have a 10-track CD with balanced musical style. I skip those 2 songs, and I wish I didn't have to. But, I don't like dance at all. I think maybe the artist ran out of material and used these 2 tracks as "filler" and to add an English quotient...as they have the most English of any tracks. It's dissapointing really. But, over-all, this CD earns a solid 10-of-10 stars, because it really is fabulous. The singer is amazing and has extreme potential. But she really should stick to the U-Ka, Zard and KOTOKO-type songs and avoid the dance trend. Still, having to skip 2 tracks isn't bad...10 tracks is still a full release and one that is filled with wonderful lyrics and melodies. I cannot express how much I am reminded of U-Ka Saegusa on this (except for the dance songs...) and Miho's influence is evident. In short...I think the previous review is spot-on, but I did want to point out the 2 obvious dance tracks. I'm left wondering why they are there? Like I said...they really stick out stylistically because the other songs are more rock...which suits this artist to a "T". We'll be seeing more of her, I have no doubt! But please, no dance next time...not even the 2 little bits of it. Stick with the other style. But: BUY THIS CD. Even if you skip #10 and #12, it's a worthy purchase and one you cannot be without!

What a GLORIOUS Surprise... Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I bought this CD on a whim...thinking that based on the cover "look" and track titles, I was going to end up with a dance-style CD that I would hate. That is NOT the case! WOW. This CD shows why Giza knows how to pick excellent artists for their label. This is pure pop and even has some rock elements...actually upon first listen I was astonished at how much this CD sounds like U-Ka Saegusa's IN db II CD. Even their voices sound identical. So, if you love U-Ka, Zard or even KOTOKO...you must must must BUY THIS RELEASE. It is excellent. The singer has an outstanding voice and she wrote almost every single song. One she co-wrote and composed with Miho Komatsu...an amazing singer/songwriter in her own right (who I also love). If you are looking for a CD with brilliant songs and excellent melodies (most songs are up-tempo, which is perfect for the strong, yet clear and pure soprano voice) and can't wait for a new CD by U-Ka, Zard, Miho or KOTOKO...but this. It will blow you away. I cannot believe this is a debut. It has the polish of a professional artist who knows her ability. And I LOVE the song she co-produced with Miho. There is not one dissapointing track on this entire CD. Even the photo album booklet that comes with it is gorgeous...loads of glossy, exquisite photos of the singer in lovely settings. You simply cannot go wrong with this purchase. I'm off to play it again. My advice? BUY IT. Now.
