MG 1 and 2 Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
I got hooked with Taiwan tv series after watching MG1. I am fluent in cantonese and can understand mandarin here and there. I first watched MG1 dubbed in cantonese. Then bought MG2 and watched it in mandarin, which I enjoyed much better even though I dont speak mandarin. Then I wind up buying another MG1 in mandarin and watched it over again and i can say its definitely much better the dubbed version. Since Taiwanese tv series are like TVB series where voices are recorded live, listening to the original voices makes a huge difference because their emotions are much more expressive. If the series is just dubbed like the ones from china, then it dont make any difference if its canto or mandarin.

This is one of the first series of Asian tv dramas I've seen, and continues to be high-ranking. It's very well done with the interplay of the characters, though I wish they'd shown more of the other F4 leads before 'Meteor Rain'. Barbie makes a great female lead and you totally identify with her, and favorite Jerry role too. However, I found her parent's annoying and often fast-forwaded those parts. Also, Vic Chou is almost invisible (part of the point), but doesn't refine his acting until next series 'Mars' (highly recommended - he's AMAZING!). This is definitely a must-own.

The show is pretty good, I haven't finished it yet but overall it has been entertaining. There are some scenes that are just fillers but it does a little bit of added emotion into the series. I started watching the show on youtube.com and then decided that I wanted it for myself, I'm glad that I bought it. =] The subtitles are a little off with spelling errors and literal translations that don't quite fit, but it is still easy to enjoy the series and get the full knowledge of what's going on. I suggest that you buy the series if you've seen it beofre, to add to your collection, or if you haven't seen it, it is a great series filled with an awesome cast and very enjoyable.

I am so thankful that this is in english subtitles too. starring F4 and Barbie Hsu, i have remained a fan of this ever since I watched it. I bought it for my birthday, and I don't regret it. Shancai a poor strong stubborn girl and Doumyougi (sry i can only spell the japanese version of it...)
a rich spoiled brat come together in this drama. It is the first taiwanese dramas I've seen and it was very good. There are 30 episodes, and i don't think any of them drag. I highly recommend this

San Cai is the beauty and Dou Ming Xi is the beast. Dou Ming Xi is an immature, selfish, violent, rich spoiled bratty college student. San Cai is a strong, valiant, straight talking, poor good hearted girl trying to earn a degree from a high class college. Every student at the college is afraid of Dou Ming Xi. If they say or make a wrong move, they are outed against and other students avoid them like the plague. Don't mess with F4 (flower 4) the four guys from the richest families in the world. Dou Ming Xi is leader of the pack followed by Hua Za Lei, Xi Men and Mei Zou. One time San Cai protect her friend from Dou Ming Xi and stand up to him. He got mad and went after her. He paid guys to chase after her and beat her to near death. It got weird when he suddenly fall in love with her. Does not make sense at all. Totally insane. How did that happen? Give us a break! Without her in his life he is full of anger and violence. With her he is more gentle and kind. The gist of the drama: Rich violent guy must be with poor nice girl. Out of the many Taiwan dramas I watched this one is at the top of the list of faves.

Rainie Yang's part in Meteor Garden is small. you won't see that much of her. she is still very cute in this though. she looks like a little girl. her character is Xiou You who is in love with Xi Men. but Xi Men is a playboy who has a heart and does not get involved with her. i'm a major Rainie Yang fan so even knowing she had a small part i still watched it. Barbie Xu is ok i guess. and the F4 guys are ok too.

omg, i love this series...the storyline was just so fantastic...it is like one of my favorite series...i really recommended that you watch this series if you haven't already saw it....i just grew in love with jerry's character.

Meteor Garden is my number one favorite Taiwanese TV drama series. The love relationship between Dao Ming Xi and Shan Cai is memorable. It's great how Dao Ming Xi's personality changes because of his love for Shan Cai. He used to be very mean, violent and barbaric. Once he fell in love with her and started to hang out with her more, he became gentler, more kind & caring about other people. He wants to change and become a better person for himself and for her.

The English subtitles to this version is somewhat decent. Sometimes they translate the female "Ta" as 'He' when it should be 'She'. But if you watch the show closely, you will know (based on the situation of the current scene) that when the translation says 'he', you will know that they mean 'she'. If you know Mandarin, then it would be easier.

This is a great show. The set contains 5 double-sided DVDs. The sound and picture quality are excellent. And on the last DVD, there are some extras and behind-the-scenes footage.

Also my first Taiwanese drama!! it had really changed my aspects and thinking when it comes to TV SERIES.. I can't believe I've been a fan of this for years..and still counting.. even I'm no f4 fan anymore.. I would still treasure those days I've been addicted and obsessed with them and "meteor garden".. one of my all-time favorites!!

I was one of F4 fans and through this movie I like F4 more...Meteor Garden is the first movie I like ALOT , is touching,everything...It make me cry about it...I love F4 and Meteor Garden alot...I hope someone not wtach this movie yet, come and watch it , you wll be like it......LOVE F4 AND METEOR GARDEN...
