Mutt Boy (Hong Kong Version)

March 11, 2006 Cute movieJung Woo-sung is adorable. He plays, as a friend of mine phrased it, one of the coolest loosers you'll ever want to meet. Stray Doggy (Jung Woo-sung)cruises through life, not yet sure of what he wants to do. He dropped out of school after a fight with some bullies who stole his dog, whom he had been very close to. Later, his father brings home a young woman, who had been caught trying to steal a purse, to be their maid. Although the love story between this young woman and Stray Doggy is understated, it is very cute nonetheless. The bully that was responsible for stealing his dog turns up later and Stray Doggy finally gets a chance for revenge. What happens? You'll just have to watch it to find out.

Genji - A Thousand Year Love (Hong Kong Version)
March 9, 2006 Dissapointing. It is good that a film has been made about such an important book that was written about a thousand years ago, but the film could have been done much better. Genji, the beautiful and talented hero of the tale, is played by a woman. It was weird trying to watch this woman try to play a man who was quite the lady's man. Another annoying thing about the movie is the strange woman that pops up at times to sing a song now and then. I did like the costumes and how they showed a little about the life of the book's author, Murasaki Shirkibu, but I would not recommend this movie to anyone that wasn't already a big fan of the book.

The Great Yokai War (DTS Version) (Hong Kong Version)
The Great Yokai War (DTS Version) (Hong Kong Version) DVD Region 3
(4)Our Price: US$14.99Usually ships within 7 daysMarch 9, 2006 A decent kid's film.I'm a fan of Takeshi Miike and was excitedly looking forward to his latest movie. The special effects for the yokai in this movie were CGI, full body costume, make-up, or sock puppets. Very funny, very strange. Although definitely a film for children, adults could enjoy it too. Overall, I thought this movie was pretty cute, maybe a little violent for some kids at times, but cute.

Since then, I've been telling everyone who will listen to watch this movie. The film was entertaining and enlightening. The man that did the documentary kept a fairly neutral stance too, which I respected. This is a must see for anyone interested in what goes on behind the scenes in North Korea.
