Money or Love?
Money or Love?

A modern retelling of the Ming Dynasty legend of Du Shi Niang. The tragedy of the prostitute's suicide has been down-played and re-imagined as an attempted suicide only -- it failed. The gorgeous Michelle Reis tries to drown herself but comes back (older and wiser?) to take up her old profession and end the film on a musical number. This movie is eye candy and lite escapist entertainment -- it could have been a dark comedy or tragic love story. Daniel Wu is his usual stiff and wooden self. There are a few good Cantonese lines & snappy dialogue. The best part was to see and hear the filthy profanity pouring forth from Michelle's beauty mouth. Who would have thought a lovely woman like her can swear like that. |

This is the kind of movie that I see it once and feel it is ok but not some thing I want to see often . It is not bad but not very inspiring and it is a little sad |

I'm a Daniel Wu & Michelle Reis fan. For that reason, I bought this DVD. However, I found this movie to be terrible. It's the WORST movie I have ever seen. I never regretted purchasing a movie so much. I definitely would not recommend this movie to anyone. |

Nicely developed plot, with a nice climax at the end. As usual Michelle is enjoyable to watch. She shows vast improvement of acting skills in this movie! |

I think this movie was okay and when I saw the preview I thought it is intersting and kind og funny. Then when I brought the movie it seem kind of boring and is not really a love story. All I like about this movie was the song. |

After watching the movie , i told my mom how i didn't like it . My mom told me it was classic story and how they try to make the story funny or silly . It's like Scarface with Chris Tucker in it. Really bad mix... YOU DON'T SCREW UP A CLASSIC FOLK TALE and this what u get |

I was looking forward to this movie since I like both of the main actor/actress, Daniel Wu and Michelle. However, the plot was not there and it was slow and boring. I would not recommend this movie. |
