| The first impression - the cover... way better than the CD-only one... thank God - ayu looks cute on this one :) ... second impression - the "on my way" photobook... it's worse than "off my day". This one seemed boring when compared to the other one... the CD - if You already own all of 2005 singles You won't find much... this album seems more like a "single compilation" and not as a completely fresh and new album. The best of the new songs in my opinion are: "(miss)understood" and "rainy day". The DVD contents - all PVs + makings. Making of "alterna", "fairyland" and "STEP you" were amusing, the rest was quite boring. I didn't like the "Bold&Delicious -SIDE STORY-" much :/ |

Great album, great photo-book
Great album, great photo-book
| The first impression - the cover is hideous and Ayu looks like a monkey :( bad bad... second impression - the "off my day" photobook... it has cool photos, it's funny, shows lots of cute and sexy Ayu... and the CD... if You already own all of 2005 singles You won't find much... this album seems more like a "single compilation" and not as a completely fresh and new album. The best of the new songs in my opinion are: "(miss)understood" and "rainy day". One more "minus" of this album - the booklet... it's printed on bad quality paper... I don't know why did they print the photobook on a cool glossy paper and the booklet itself on a worse quality one. |

Nice One!
|
I'm a new fan of Ayumi. So in the last two months, I bought all of her albums, from A Song For XX to the lastest, (miss)understood. So, I can feel how she transformed in each album. I find that in (miss)understood, she has more western touch, like hip-hop, soul, etc. This is quite different than her older album. I like most of the songs in this album (especially STEP you, Ladies Night, Is this LOVE? etc), but find some songs are not like her usual style, too western. I think she experiment a lot in this album. It's a nice album though, and the included photo album is so great, it is very thick, and really surpass my expectation. After buying CD+DVD+photo version, now, I'm considering to buy the CD + photo album version. |

Review of Non-Ayu-Fans...
|
I'm not an officially Ayu Fans, but I like some of her songs from this album...especially HEAVEN & FAIRYLAND. (I start to like Ayu's Song from HEAVEN,which is a powerful and emotional ballad.) Other great songs that I like are BOLD & DELICIOUS,which is funny and strong ; FAIRYLAND,a happy and fun song ; LADIES NIGHT,an unusual song by Ayumi, weird but nice! The DVD is included 9 Music Videos,Bold & Delicious (Alternative Version MV),and 6 Making-Of the MVs. This item is absolutely worth buying and enjoyable~ A MUST-HAVE item for Ayu Fans & J-Pop lovers!! |

GREAT Return to what she does best
GREAT Return to what she does best
| I am officially once again in love with Ayu's music. Though it certainly has been an interesting trip she's taken us on from & all the way through to My Story, I had felt it was a little strained at times, and even hoped she would move away from doing so many ballad-style tracks. Well, she's now back to more of a pop-standard style, and it is everything I hoped. Of course, Ayu still manages to be unique while staying true to her pop mastery. This album is also particularly succesful because of the many different styles and tempos that she uses. All in all, this album marks a very good step forward from My Story, with much catchier tunes, and much more mastered technique. Some favorites on here were Bold & Delicious (I have no idea why some people have complained about the chorus- to me, it's just so much fun), STEP you (I've always been a sucker for Ayu's rapping ever since Fly High), Ladies Night (gotta love the electrofunk feel of this track), alterna, Will, and Beautiful Day. I have to say that Will really surprised me. I think this may be Ayu's best technical performance to date. The control of her voice on this particular track was more than I expected from her. Hope there's a remix album to follow, these songs seem like they could be remixed well. |

What An Album
What An Album
| After waiting so long for this album to arrive, I find that it is worth the wait. There are so many different styles of music, yet all are great, and theres not one track to skip. The DVD has plenty of great videos, as well as fun "Making of's..." Although there are mixed feelings about the PV "Ladies Night" I find it fun, in a sort of demented way. The whole album sets itself apart from any 'typical' sounds of modern popular music. It is absolutely fantastic. A must buy for any Ayu fan, and a great buy for anybody else! |

A More Matured Ayu...
A More Matured Ayu...
|
I recently reserved one of Ayu's Newest Album and Im so anticipated it to buy. This album features a more matured Ayu than ever, & the lyrics is much more deeper and beautiful since she started her career. I've noticed that most of the tracks in this album are more stylish compare to the older releases. This album includes some of her Super-Smash hits like STEP you, Bold&Delicious (It describes Big Apple - New York), HEAVEN, fairyland, and so much more. The Track #3 the one of the "Must-Listen" track because of Jpop/Techno mixture and its sounds great (^_^), but the PV of this track was scary and weird... it's one of Ayu's worst PV for her new album. I didn't hear the rest of this album but I recommend you to buy this album with photobook because it is the best since MY STORY. |

Ayumi Hamasaki's best work yet!
Ayumi Hamasaki's best work yet!
| Hamasaki, Ayumi has done it again! After the success of her last album "MY STORY"; Ayumi Hamasaki now stuns her fans with the release of her 7th Album "(Miss)Understood". This album brings the melting pot of all music genre's to the delight of her fans. Starting with the first track ("Bold&Delicious") you hear hybrid sounds of pop and r&b, ("Step You") brings a nostalgic beat of the traditional J-Pop mixing with techno and a catchy chorus. ("Ladies Night")is what most fans have stated as "Unique" and "Catchy" but the song's theme is more like the 70's disco meeting 80's pop; ("Is this love?") brings back the style from her 5th album "RAINBOW" with a strong alternative rock theme that was shared in (Free&Easy). The song ("(miss)understood") has a catchy beat and if anyone loved "MY STORY" then this would be a song not easily forgotten; ("Alterna") is as "Unique" as ("Ladies Night") but the sweet sounds of the orchestra blending with raging beats of the guitar makes this song truely loved by any ayu-fan out there as same goes for the song ("Criminal")with its gentle piano. ("In the Corner")and("Pride") share the uniqueness of its techno beats with Ayumi's emotional voice that make these songs touching. ("HEAVEN")and("Will")are quite different than most of the songs on this album, both ballads sharing exotic type of beats with a strong orchestrated harmony while ("Fairyland")has very upbeat pop music, very similar to "INSPIRE". The last two songs, ("Beautiful Day")and("Rainy Day")are like Light and Dark, for as ("Beautiful Day")the song has a cheerful theme, ("Rainy Day")however portrays a deep and dark theme/meaning, leaving this to be the most emotionally loved song in the entire album. "(Miss)Understood" is Hamasaki's best work yet and to any fan this album is worth keeping, for it shares Ayumi's deepest memories and emotions. |
