Best artist introduction
|
Out of all the artists I've listened to over the years, none have made me an immediate fan. I've had to get used to their music and later decide. When I first heard Gackt, I immediately fell hard. There was no thinking, I immediately loved his voice and style. I heard this in 2000 (though it was released summer 1999). This is considered Gackt's first album, and though it contains only 4 songs, it is worth the money. Mizerable is an amazing mix of rock and violin. Gackt is the first artist I ever felt mixed strings with rock skillfully and artistically. I was a violinist for 5 years when I was a child and Gackt was one of my key influences to keep playing. ^^ 5/5 Story is a lovely ballad-like piece by Gackt. The piano really soothes the ears and this track really shows off his classical side. Since he can play the piano extremely well, this song really felt like a peek into his musical feelings. 5/5 Leeca is another ballad-like piece but this time you only hear the piano and Gackt's voice. It really feels like a live performance. It makes the listener feel like they are in an audience and must be quiet till the performance ends. 5/5 Lapis ~Prologue~ is a very sad, almost heart-wrenching piece to the ears. This one is a pure mix of piano and violin. I really wish I had the sheet music to this piece. The melody seems simple, yet really gets the message across. The lyrics are very deep. The translation: 'Even though the dream hurts me, I don't change anything. I opened a new door and continue into the expanding world. I could embrace this body until it hurts. I could hurt myself in order to become just a little bit stronger...I just keep walking on the endless road' Overall, this song really deserves a 5/5 This album is amazing and I feel any Gackt fan should definitely have this in their collection. ^_^ |

Masterpiece
| Every song on this CD is fantastic, my favorite songs are "Mizerable" and the gorgous "Story". The music and singing is very emotional. I don't understand the lyrics, but I don't need to to love the songs. |

Mizerable (Ain't that sweet? Naming it after Mali
| I am shocked at how much Gackt and his music had changed from his earlier work. The whole point of Malice Mizer was to do stuff that not everyone else was doing. You can still see that influence in Mizerable, but after that, it's like, what happened? He starts churning out these really poppy things. I like some of his stuff now, but it was more interesting awhile back. Anyways. Sorry. "Mizerable" is one of my favorite songs cause it expresses the emotions he's feeling. "Story" is the best song off this mini-album. It's mostly him playing the piano, then someone speaking in French for a bit, then more piano, but it blows the ducks out of the water. "Leeca" is wonderful and "Lapis ~prologue~ is too. I liked this album cause I like to think he was kind of sad when he left Malice Mizer. I like him now, a whole lot, but I just wish he'd try something new with his music. Any Gackt fan should own this mini-album, and you better get it now before it goes out of print like his other stuff. Grr. |

Incredible...
| I first saw the video to this song a while ago at a friend's house, and I was instantly captivated by the song's strong emotional power. I thought that Mizerable wa sthe only thing to look forward to- boy was I wrong. The other three songs are simply Perfect- no other words can describe them. The song story is VERY wonderful, telling a story with barely any narration and instruments. This guy really doesn't need any more support, since he's so popular, but this mini-album is A MASTERPEICE!!! Buy it now! |
