    関西のとある小さな町。代々続く銭湯を父とともに営む娘・涼のあだ名は"雨女"。幼い頃から、彼女にとって大切な日には決まって雨が降った。数日後に結婚を控えたある日、やはり雨が降った。そしてその日、彼女は唯一の肉親である父と婚約者を同時に亡くしてしまう。天涯孤独の身となった涼は、店を閉めて旅に出る。そこで不思議な女・ユキノと出会い、再び生きる力を得て、涼は家に戻ってくる。ところが、そこには見知らぬ男がいて…。
    数多くの映画出演のオファーを受けていた歌姫・UAが主演した話題作。デビュー作と思えぬ圧倒的な存在感を見せるUAは、"水の女"・涼そのものといった印象を与える。彼女と恋に落ちる"火の男"・優作には浅野忠信が扮し、こちらもまた強烈な存在感を見せている。その他、モデルのHIKARU、元JUDY AND MARYのYUKIといった個性的な面々が出演。TV局ディレクターとして数々の作品を手掛けた杉森秀則の映画監督デビュー作であり、ヴェネチア国際映画祭ほか各国の映画祭に出品され高い評価を受けた。
