(2)Our Price: US$8.99Usually ships within 7 daysJune 5, 2010 EnjoyableA film beautifully shot, well performed with a great score. The actors delivered solid performance in a traditional good vs evil movie. It may be a bit deceiving as some audience may think it's an action film because of Donnie Yen. However, I'm glad that Donnie was cast in the film with a lesser fighting role. Yes, he was still yielding a big sword and all, but mostly he acted, which is something that he has done very well lately. Good cinematography, simple plot, and solid acting make this an enjoyable movie to watch over and over again. Did you know that this film was voted to represent China to be nominated for best foreign movie in the Oscars?

June 5, 2010 Donnie Yen at his BESTBy now you must know this was the best HK film in 2008. The movie stands out from the rest of martial arts film due to the other aspects of the film - focus on family values, friendship, love for country ...etc. Don't get me wrong, the action was superb, thanks to Sammo's choreography and Donnie's delivery. Moreover, it would not be exaggerated to say that this would not be the same film without Donnie. Donnie delivered his best acting and action to date in this film. He abandons his normal style and truly embraced this character, thus bringing life and credibility to this film. The supporting roles were well cast as well especially with Ip Man's wife, played by someone with no acting experience. Some criticize Donnie's acting as bland, but in reality, his portayal of Ip Man is true to the master himself, according to Ip Chun (Ip Man's son). He was also able to capture the transition of a privileged man to a broken man mid movie without a hitch. The film is near perfection under the direction of Wilson Yip. It is truly the best collaboration between Donnie and Wilson.

(8)Our Price: US$18.49Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysJune 5, 2010 Good film, but could have been betterI was really impressed about the cast before watching the film. The storyline was solid. Most of the cast gave a great performance with a couple of exceptions. 1. Nicholas' win as best supporting actor was overrated in my opinion. His acting was .. really... just acting, and you could tell. Hu Jun, Tony Leung, even Donnie Yen were much much better in the film. 2. Leon Lai was another dissappointment. He can't be blamed, but whoever decided to cast him as a good martial arts artist was really out of his mind. Especially when you have other great MA artists in the same film. Plot - good, easy to follow storyline. Set - really well built with many great details. Action - the fight involving the BIG guy was really over the top and brought the film down a bit since it was supposedly a historical event. The hugely anticipated fight between Donnie Yen and Cung Le was so choppily edited that it felt like a waste to both men. The best scene in the film was the chase scene with Donnie and Cung Le, which was choreographed by Donnie at the end of filming. It was done superbly with minimal wiring. Another top notch delivery by Donnie Yen. Also kudos to Donnie is his acting skills. Again, he has shown that he's matured to play such a complicated character. He should've been nominated for best supporting actor.

June 5, 2010 Awesome film 14 BladesWow, great film, good costume, decent cast, solid plot. Donnie Yen delivered yet another solid performance in this film with respect to both acting and action. He trained extensively for the opening tatoo scene which of course was appreciated by many I'm sure. Donnie's portayal of a broken man trying to find truth and justice was brilliantly done. The bit of 'love' he showed towards Zhao Wei's character was just enough to give the audience a heartache. The action was superbly choreographed. Loved all the flying knives and blades. Wu Jun was not bad as the bandit. Zhao Wei was excellent as usual. Great cameo of Sammo, though I'd like to see more of him in the film. All in all, great film. I'm surprised this film did not do as well at the box office.

(6)Our Price: US$6.99Usually ships within 7 - 14 daysJune 5, 2010 Great Donnie Yen filmI was truly taken by surprised when I watched this film. Unlike past Donnie Yen films, this one has a plot and decent story line. Wilson Yip took his time to develop the characters, so it seemed a bit slow for the first half hour. However, it gave the characters time to show the audience their relationships. It also allowed Donnie's character to come to an understanding of his team and what they wanted to accomplish. However, it was done a bit 'choppily'. Donnie's acting skills shines in the film, not to mention his fight scenes. He brillliantly choreographed the two major action scenes at the end. The knive fight with Wu Jing was simply amazing. The speed and emotion of the two men were incredible to watch. Donnie's fight with Sammo could go down the books as one of the best fights ever. Yes, some wiring was involved, but it was kept to a minimum. Overall the movie was very well casted. The plot was quite sad, but I think Wilson was trying to say something here.
