Thanks to her song MJ, Alice Amu has become a sensation online. The promising singer-songwriter from Hong Kong is classically trained in singing, and her sound is one fusing pop and classical music styles. She held her first solo concert in October 2009 at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium, and in 2010 she releases her debut solo EP Molting. Of the 5 tracks on the EP, the songs MJ and "Ten Thousand Futures" (the theme song for a jewelry brand) are her own compositions, while "Do Not Disturb" is also penned by her. The EP has received rave reviews from the Respect music magazine, which described Alice's songs as bold, pleasantly surprising, and groundbreaking for Canto-pop.
