Before his heroic bloodshed days, director John Woo was responsible for a number of comedies, including the hilarious caper comedy Money Crazy! Ricky Hui stars as Ducky, a gold-digging shyster who's looking for a quick buck. Ducky gets close to tycoon Rich Chen in hopes of scoring, but things go awry when he fumbles the delivery of some precious gems. Enter Mary (Angie Chiu) and Tough Guy (Richard Ng), who are actually after the jewels because they belong to Mary's elderly father! Putting aside their greedy, money-grubbing ways, Ducky and Tough Guy make a pact to help Mary in her quest...and hopefully snatch some riches along the way! But that's just a plan. Actually getting into Rich Chen's mansion and getting the jewels is another story! John Woo brings a slapstick comic touch to Money Crazy, a zany farce reminiscent of the best Hong Kong comedies of the seventies. Ricky Hui and Richard Ng make a delightful comic duo, showing the talent and self-effacing sense of humor that made them two of Hong Kong's top comedy actors!

　　富翁陳千億（張瑛飾）家財豐厚，硬漢探乃施計入陳家任保鏢。同時鴨咀（吳耀漢飾）亦受陳托運三粒巨型鑽石，硬漢探心動，乃尾隨伺機奪取。少女馬利（趙雅芝飾）亦偷聽知悉跟蹤。硬漢探與鴨咀攤牌，謂各佔半數，同時馬利及其表哥也提槍出現，要鴨咀將鑽石全部交出，但為硬及鴨堅拒。糾纏間，鑽石跌出被汽車輾碎，始知是膺品。馬利失望痛哭，告知一人，該鑽石原為其契爺（俞明飾）所有，但為陳設下賭局所騙，致令契爺家道中落。硬漢探承諾幫忙，經過多番嘗試，亦失望而回。各人終計議一陷阱，鴨咀致電給陳謂昨晚拋回者為假鑽石，真鑽石在其手。鴨想出用方法偷龍轉鳳，將陳之真鑽石換過來，鴨又施計騙三粒鑽石更將假鑽石賣回給陳，乃展開一場激烈之爭．．．

　　Ducky is hired by Rich Chen transport the "diamonds" he stole from Uncle Pai Mary Uncle both Tough Guy and Mary would like to get the diamond from Ducky, so volunteering to relieve Ducky of this responsibility. Somehow Tough Guy subdues the gunman find out the diamonds are just paste. Tough Guy and Ducky are now partners and promise Uncle Pai to recover the real diamonds. Many times they try but they get nothing more than trouble. Ducky finally works out a plan to get the real diamond back to Uncle Pai and sell the take one to Rich Chen. Uncle Pai gets his diamonds. Mr. Chen is now known as Poor Chen. Tough Guy gets his cut and, eh, Mary.
