A triad film with a deadpan subversive edge, Mongkok Story is an entertaining and offbeat entry into the popular Hong Kong Cinema genre. Directed by Wilson Yip (Bio-Zombie, Bullets Over Summer), the film details the recruitment and initiation into the triads of young busboy Leung Ping (singer Edmond Leung). He's drawn into the world by the cool charisma of "heroic" triad Ching (Roy Cheung), but their world gets turned upside down when notoriously evil triad Lui Long (the great Anthony Wong) ignites a fued between his gang and Ching's. Without warning, the feud escalates out of control, until only blood, violence, and some sublime dark comedy are left. Director Wilson Yip brings his sly sense of humor and eye for the absurd to the generic confines of Mongkok Story, and what emerges is a triad film that simultaneously adheres to and subverts its genre. Full of darkly comic and genuinely suspenseful moments, Mongkok Story is a solid and outlandishly entertaining example of this popular Hong Kong Cinema genre.

　　細尤在找工作，最後在茶餐廳當樓面。在那裡結識社團頭目郎青，郎青答應細尤的入會要求。黑社會的工作跟細尤的想像相差十萬八千里，一點都不光榮。細尤喜歡了郎青的女人美兒。一天，青哥被雷龍殺掉，細尤往報仇。最後雷龍死了，但細尤卻要坐牢。他還是不明白，當黑社會幹嗎？

　　Sai Yau is looking for a job. He ends up working in a little cafe. There, he meets Brother Ching. Ching is the head of a triad group. Yau want to be a member of the group. Ching accepts his application. The work of the triad is totally different from what Yau thought. It is not a glorified job. Yau falls for Ching's woman Mei Yee. Ching is one day killed by Dragon. Yau goes to take revenge on him. Finally, Dragon is killed and Sai Yau is put behind bars again. Sai Yau does not understand the meeting of being one of the triads.
