近未来のリアルな宇宙を舞台にした社会派SFヒューマンアニメ。原作は太田垣康男の同名人気コミック。

2007年3月からWOWOWスクランブル枠にて放送された、近未来SF人間ドラマの第1シーズンをDVD化。太田垣康男の同名人気コミックをベースに、幾多の困難を乗り越えて、宇宙開発に挑む人々の姿を描いていく。リアルタッチなストーリー展開と、魅力的な群像ドラマが話題になった。
エベレスト登頂を果たした猿渡吾郎とロストマンが、次に目指したのは宇宙だった。やがてロストマンは、スペースシャトルのパイロットになるべくアメリカ海軍に入隊するが、吾郎は建設会社に入社。だが、吾郎には彼なりの思惑があった。やがて吾郎は宇宙飛行士候補の最終選考に進むが、そんなある日、ビルの建設現場で事故が起こる。現場のエースである吾郎は、救出作業を命じられるのだが…。
