Cheesy goodness

Having seen the two musicals that followed this one first, I think it caused me to have higher expectations for this. But taking into consideration the fact that this one is older I guess the cheesier effects can be blamed on that reason. This was the SuperS musical so ofcourse it had a "cuter" feel to it, just like the anime/manga. The story is much better in this format though than having to endure watching the entire anime series of SuperS. The Amazon Trio are the true stars here (just like in the anime; wow so many connections), and they could have had more scenes with the outers (atleast they were in it!). Nehellenia probably should not have been in it, she just added to the choppiness in the final few scenes. The video quality of the DVD was also just a little annoying: some parts were blurry and some of the camera angles were odd. Regardless, this was still an enjoyable musical, with a fun soundtrack. If you enjoy the first stage cast then this is like a classic that you have to own. |
