YesAsia Editorial Description

Korean superstar Rain's 2003 romance drama Sang Doo! Let's Go to School first put the young heartthrob on the map as a leading man, paving the way for his phenomenal success in all things pop. He charmed viewers with his endearing performance as a troubled young father who turns his life around to win back his first love. Sang Doo! Let's Go to School teams up Rain with the sassy Kong Hyo Jin (Biscuit Teacher and Star Candy) and Korean Wave star Lee Dong Gun (Lovers in Paris).

High school students Cha Sang Doo (Rain) and Chae Eun Hwan (Kong Hyo Jin) are the best of friends, but they lose contact when Eun Hwan moves away after her family goes bankrupt. Unbeknownst to her, however, Sang Doo gets into a fight with her family's debtors and ends up in jail. Years later, the two friends meet up again under very different circumstances. Sang Doo is now working as a male escort in order to support his sick daughter, while Eun Hwan is a high school teacher with a steady boyfriend (Lee Dong Gun). Realizing that Eun Hwan is his one and only love, Sang Doo goes back to high school to get his diploma - and ends up in Eun Hwan's class! Can Sang Doo make up for lost time and win Eun Hwan back?

very poor Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I only bought this because of Rain's excellent performance in 'full house' but I was utterly disappointed. The sequence of events was so poorly edited that at times you thought you missed watching something. However Rain and Lee Dong Gun both did well, with cute little Bori holding the show together. The main problem lies entirely with Kong Hyo Jin. It was an enormous mistake to have casted her. She is a pain in the neck and she drove everyone nuts when crying. After her hideous performance in 'snow flakes' and now this - I would definitely avoid anything remotely connected with her. Compliments though to the hairdressers' behind the scenes. They did a fantastic job with the boys.

a touching series Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This was such a touching series. Yes, Rain acting skills was better in this series than in Full House.
Even though this was Rain first series, how can one person just get hotter and hotter. This was the last series that I watched from Rain. I started with Full House then A Love to Kill, then this. This series was really hard to find and buy. The first time I saw Rain as Sangdoo was OMG, my heart was like jumping out of my chest. I replay the first epis. like 10 times in a row. In Full House and A Love to Kill, I really didn't like his style until around epis. 5 or 6, but with Sangdoo, he look so good from the first scene. Okay enough of my drooling. Sangdoo was my second fav. K-series after FH. Everything was amazing, the storyline just flow beautifully, just enough comedy combined with drama. Favorite parts: I love all the scenes with Rain and Bori, so sweet; Rain was WOW in his portray as a single father, and was funny and adorable as a gigolo; all the scenes between Lee Dong Gun and Rain- hilarious, yet the chemistry between Rain and Gong Hyo Jin were okay, nothing special, and the ending was perfect for this series.

sweet sweet drama Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
im my opinion this drama is not given as much attention as it deserves, it is just as good if not better than full house (also starring rain))
this is a touching, both sad and funny drama that will pull u in and keep u hooked.
it achieves both in making u laugh and making ur cry simultaneously and as it is rain's debut drama he acts exceptionally well. his interaction with the little girl who plays his daughter is very sweet and heartfelt to watch
well worth the watch

funny yet sad Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
The starting episodes of this show is hilarious... as Rain does not care for his image and really acts as a silly guy... but towards the end, you see his strong commitment towards love, his long suffering love... that you'll start weeping for him .. but don't worry.. it has a happy ending....

A must watch...!

<3 Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Omg! i own every tv series rain has been in and this one is also truly amazing. His role was much stronger in this series and i loved how the actress for Eun-hwan played her part. I loved how she never doubted him, because he (sangdoo) went through a lot. This series made me cry a lot. Some parts with the daughter...made me sooo sad. Really great acting. I also give a thumbs up to the actor who played Min-suk. I didn't like him in "Smile again" but in this series his role was not overplayed and his character matched him. I reccommend this series to anyone who 1) is a fan of rain 2)Loves sad, touching, funny dramas 3) Loves korean dramas all in all!

100/10!
