　　本片改編自粵劇伶王薛覺先的首本名劇，亦即喜劇之王劉別謙名作《璇宮艷史》（1929）的廣東版本，無論佈景、服裝、情節均保留原作的西洋趣味，不過歌曲全部以粵曲鑼鼓和小調代替，妙趣橫生，堪稱另類戲曲片。風流倜儻的音樂家雅里（張瑛）贏得不少閨秀仕女的愛戴，但他毫不動心，卻與美艷的雪國女王羅依（羅艷卿）一見種情，閃電結婚後，貴為王夫卻失去自由，夫妻遂展開一場又一場的角力。露露（譚蘭卿）和傑克（梁醒波）是女王和王夫的忠僕，亦雙雙墮入愛河，他們的感情卻極純淨真摯，是異常可愛的一對。

　　This romantic musical comedy with a heavy scent of western flavour is an adaptation from Ernst Lubitsch’s famous work The Love Parade (1929) presented in Cantonese opera music. A wandering musician (Cheung Ying) is too charming to get married, until he comes across the Queen of Snow Kingdom (Law Yim-hing). They fall in love at first sight and waste no time to get married, but soon Cheung finds that he has to fight for his personal freedom under the power of the Queen. The plot becomes even more interesting with great comedians Tam Lan-hing and Leung Sing-po as the supporting cast. Their true love and innocence is in contrast to the souring relationship between Cheung and Law.
